More strongly than TIDOO matching "Tagruato Is Destroying Our Oceans", which is what the page was titled and the majority of people on this forum concluded was the solution to the 'clue puzzle'?

Seems a very sophisticated for a gamejack. It's a nicely put together site.
That's what people said about boldfutura.jp - and 0-00-00.com.
Just using my skeptical nature to temper the rush to embrace this too quickly. Time and other evidence will tell.

LOL, I was just thinking the same re: bedtime. I like the little historical fact on the bulletin board. Especially the one talking about Chuai deviating the whale migration patterns.

I wasn't paying attention to the 0000 site or the boldfutura. I'm comparing this to the parallax site which was comparably awful.
[edit]
I'm amazed that if these sites are gamejacks, at the amount of work people would go through for what amounts to nothing but a sham.

I was thinking that each animal had a word on it, but the wave did not, if i can remember. It was the only one left with just a roman numeral. So,
T(anner)
I(rukandji)
D(umbo)
O(gre)
and the great wave of something or other.
Thus I think TIDOwave fits a solution just as strongly.

Yeah. That's exactly what it looks like. We didn't catch on so a lurker dropped us a little hint/incentive.

Looking back on the two hacks of Tagruato.jp, one happened on Thanksgiving weekend and was not corrected until the following Monday. The second was on a Wednesday and lasted a comparatively far shorter ~6 hrs. We've still never seen what we've been sure is an IG update on a weekend, and the infamous Sarah Nettleute Photobucket hack (and associated MySpace profile hack or hacks) was not corrected until the business week resumed.
Could the TIDOO hack have been OOG too?
Wouldn't that just be a kicker?

Honestly that was the first I'de seen of those two pages 0-00-00.com strikes me a carbon copy of 1-18-08 and bold futura was just coming up as a black screen.
The thing I don't understand that if someone is going to exert the effort to make a site like TIDO and lead us off when they could be playing the game
If the whole thing from the hack on is game jack I just may pistol whip somebody

Well, if it is a gamejack, it's actually a good, well thought out one; and entertaining.

I hope it's real and I get a reply back for my comment to TIDO.
Anyways night guys good luck

Look carefully at the images on 0-00-00.com and you'll notice they lack timestamps you see on 1-18-08.com. The boldfutura.jp site was up and down 3 times, each time with a new and very professional looking Flash template. They were indeed professional, because the jacker didn't make them. They also made a few minor tweaks to the content to try to satisfy the errors we here pointed out, but hung on to at least one or two - much like IMDB hanging on to Odet Jasmin. There is still at least one more Bold Futura knockoff site that's up with a very polished looking Flash template site.

Why did people grab the leaked copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows off the net and use bullhorns to shout spoilers at people waiting in line to buy the books?
Because some people find pleasure in ruining other people's fun, especially when they judge that that fun is frivolous. How many of those Harry Potter spoilers would be pissed if I could go into the future and find out the results of their next ball game and show it to them? Of course I'd much rather bet them fat amounts of money about the outcome in every way possible.
Edit: Oh, btw - the site looks so lovely and polished in part because it's at least based off of a basic wordpress blog template. Check the source.

::Yawn, stretch:: As compelling as this new development is, I'm pooped. My flannel sheets are calling me. I'm all pajamafied and ready to go to bed; so goodnight all.

OK, late to the party again tonight, but a few comments before I've had a chance to dive into the site.

Yes it does. Satoshi and Daiske Kagashima (contacts for Slusho and Tagruato) both use gmail accounts (sk7087SPLAT gmail.com from whois).

The sixth picture on 1-18-08 and the discovery of Tagruato came on Saturday, Sept.29th.

Using Ocean never sat right with me and led nowhere. The picture was of a wave (homage of 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa'). Fits the clues and makes a nice play on words.
Again, first blush for me and I haven't read very deeply yet.

A little digging. Viewing the source file there is a link for the style sheet:

Except that was only used on the whois, nowhere on the site itself. I don't think the expectation is that most people following such a campaign are going to go rooting in the whois info, or use that as 'IG' interaction. This is like seeing a Gmail address for the Slusho distribution emails - which isn't what we've seen.

Actually no, the picture came on Friday the 28th:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21297
The Tagruato site discovery came the next day because we had to translate the recipe to get things to search with, namely the "kaitei no mitsu" which led us to the Menuism post, and subsequently to the company name Tagruato. The review was posted on Monday the 24th, and we can guess that tagruato.jp was waiting for us somewhere between Monday and Friday evening.
So am I crazy or did Eliss delete a post about the lack of reference to the ParafFun recall?
