 		[SPEC] My theory
My personal theory on the movie is as follows:
Teddy and his eco-terrorist group contaminate a shipment of ParafFun(the tagruato message on the phone) being shipped to the chuai station because it is having electrical difficulties(the late opening of the station/the paraffun description said that it could insulate copper wires) along the way, the boat being shipped there with the wak gets crashed, thus polluting the water and mutating our monster, who heads toward the colsest land, NYC, NY. Meanwhile, Tagruato believes a worker on the station is causing all the bad events, thus picking them off one by one. (the whistle blower note).

That would be a LOT of contaminated wax. And if they're contaminating it, why would it turn a creature into a huge monster??
I like the theory though. I don't think it's spot on, but it ties in a lot of the things that have been happening recently.
