Frankly, what would be the point?
We've probably already figured out a hello of a lot about the movie, seeing as we're gathering more info about it than the average moviegoer - which this movie is made for. Many of those moviegoers won't have seen the on set promotional shots, spyshots of locations (still and video), and even the trailers like we have. We'll know so much that the movie won't be so much of a surprise anyway, except the realization of the things that we know must happen and seeing the things we know are in the movie but haven't yet been seen in whole or in part (like say, the monster?).

Watching a bootleg would only do a really crappy job of spoiling what we don't know or haven't seen. I'd rather see and hear a nice full cinematical presentation of this than a crappy stereo (or mono) DV cam recorded low res bootleg copy.

I'd have to go with yes on this one. I don't think i could avoid the internet until this came out. Besides his hypothetical situation states a legitimate final and, most importantly, quality copy.

Question here, what's going to happen when people will already have seen early showings of the film, or hypothetically gotten bootlegs before 1-18-08...how are the mods going to deal with potential spoilers popping up all over the place?? Shocked

Unfortunately for me, I think I might have to pull an incredible showing of mental fortitude and steer clear of the boards once spoliers and such start showing up Bang Head

Good point, I think the mods may have their hands full trying to keep up with [SPOILER] tagging of threads and posts. Common courtesy says posters should do this - and for those keeping with the key rule "Play Nice" this should be considered SOP. If someone does start wrecklessly posting spoiler info, remember a nice PM to a mod can help greatly in getting things fixed.

Hell yes, and hell no. Yes because it is Cloverfield, no because I would too want to enjoy the theater experience.
