I'll see if I can get that day off from work to see. I'm willing to arrange a meet-up with people around the south Georgia area (Savannah, etc.).

Smile

Razz

I'm not going to say anything.

You know, I KNOW this is gonna happen at other sites like Imdb and firstshowing.net which is OK because I avoid all other Cloverfield sites like the plague now. (Except for cloverfieldclues.com)

However, if someone comes on here and does it, I give the mods here permission to go all Jason Voorhees on their a$$.

"Die" is all I would have to say to a person like that.

When I read that I got excited because I saw Georgia. Then I saw the Savannah part... too far.

So it sounds like maybe we've got a Kentucky/Tennessee contingent, HerOdyssey leading the Oregon (and southern Washington) group, and some smattering of ones and twos elsewhere. I know we can get more than this going. I know there's a pile of people from Orlando in this forum, and I happen to know they have a dogpile of screens in that area to choose from. (Pleasure Island at DisneyWorld's Downtown Disney alone has 24 screens! And there's at least 3 more within 25 miles that have a dozen!)
Texas in a characteristic move seems to have it's own thread for this. Laughing
So, shall we start something of a roll?
I'd also like to point out that dedication could mean being willing to drive a bit more than an hour to see this together. I also suggest that some of you participating at other sites even get those folks to join in the gatherings.

But what I was going to say before is that I'm going to preview it at work and find a way to bring as many people as possible to the preview. WE had a full theater for Harry Potter and it's only supposed to be an employee and their guest, but whatever.

That's how I got to see Gladiator, for free, starting at midnight. Back then, few if any movies opened at midnight (I think that got it's start with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace). They waited until we were all ready to start, then rolled the film - no trailers, previews, or other crap. And yes, I think that's a damn good movie.

If I was going to do any sort of prank at the theater, it'd be to find out who there was really a uF reader lurking in the showing. I'd just wait for a quiet, pregnant pause in the movie and shout "THAT'S RETARTED!"

Socal Baby!

I'm located in the greater Los Angeles area (Simi Valley to be exact). I can't be the only "Unfictioneer" located in the 2nd most populated area in the U.S.?

I unfortunately don't have the time to head up a viewing party, but if anyone locally is interested in doing the leg work, I would make every effort to attend.
