With the buzz this movie has created, the aspirin companies will reap the benefits as well as Bad Robot."
Hmm?
Is this supposed to be a direct quote? There is no way in hell or high water this came from the Washington Post -- or any other reputable newspaper for that matter.
Frankly, it reads like a poorly crafted message board post.

So many people complained about the hand-held camera in Blair Witch, but I didn't have any problem with it. And, I'm one of those people who can't read in a moving car w/out feeling sick. I honestly don't know what all the complaining was about.
And, since when did you ever sympathize deeply with a character in a disaster/action movie anyway? That's what made the Towering Inferno such a great movie - because we really cared about Paul Newman's character. Yeah, right. Actually, the Towering Inferno sucked, so bad example. What about Die Hard? It just wouldn't have been as engaging if it hadn't been for the tension between John McClain and his estranged wife, Holly McClain/Genero. I don't know about the rest of you, but that's all I really cared about in that movie - will she take his name back or not?! The rest of the movie - with the helicopters and FBI guys, and the ATV ("send in the car!") - all of that was just window dressing around the emotional drama. Am I right? Or, Kill Bill - it's because we really cared about...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Beatrix Kiddo
...that those movies worked, right? [Note heavy tone of sarcasm in all of the above]
Anyway, what do we care? We know the characters, so those complaints don't touch us. So, ha, I say, HA!

New info that the movie is called "CHUAI"
After the drilling station.
The monster is named after the drilling area that it came from.
I will give you my source.
His name is Guillermo Villalobos and he works on a studio lot as a sound tech.
Guess which studio company?
He cut a demo for my band 2 years ago and we have kept in touch since.
He was working with another sound tech that worked on "Chuai"
Since the title isn't the main secrecy issue as much as the movie, he said if I wanted to leak it he didn't care.
He is not under a gag order so he said he could care less.
Now he thinks this will make him famous.
If anyone needs a sound engineer for a studio he would like me to refer him.
I asked about a conspiracy theory and he said from what he understood the
drilling station is attacked and the attack is referred to vaguely as the "Chuai Station Incident"
When its learned what happened, they simply describe what they know is an "aggressive unknown living organism" as "Chuai" It isn't clear where its heading until it nears the east coast and appears on sonar or radar.
So I think its kept hush until New York City gets a visit.
Evidently there is a time lapse of a 3 to 7 days before the mosnter reaches NYC. And a Possibility that it attacks large ships in its path on its way to land. Which would explain why it didnt care for the Statue of Liberty.
Evidently Robby Hawkins gets word of what happened through a friend in the company (Teddy Hanssen is my guess) which to me explains why he seems not as shocked as everyone else at the party.
Thats all Im gonna get. More than I thought though.
Just an FYI: Ive known this guy for a few years and for the most part, I believe what he tells me. Although I wouldn't trust him alone with anyone's girlfriend. His word is usually good.
I told him that I would give his home address to this board if its not true.
Yes it was his posting. There was a discussion about it a little while ago here:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21847
It originally came from an IMDB posting (which should send up red flags).
I've never heard of a movie review coming out so far in advance...reviews usually come out same day as the release or a few days before...I doubt its even been screened for critics.
We need a link to prove this is even real, but until then...

Well no shit. The point of the movie is to convey a realistic monster attack. This isn't really supposed to be a movie as we know modern movies to be. This is supposed to be a realistic telling of fictitious events (which, I know, sounds like the definition of a "movie", but stay with me). This movie is supposed to read as real events that were recorded by someone who truly experienced them.
Would that person look into the camera and give you a backstory on their life and relationships? No.
That is what this ARG/E is for.

This is bunk. There have been no reviews of this film. This film has not been seen by anyone but those working on its production.

It's the trailer -- no other content.

I'm actually on a mailing list for the post, since I don't get it at school.
Actually I can'g figure out how to get off the list, but thats besides the point.
The point is they send me their new movie reviews every week... I feel I would have remembered this one.
I'll check, but... I'm calling fake.
... that's not to say that reviews like that won't be popping up. Boy did they ever for "The Blair Witch", which this movie could almost be a sequel to.
Edit: I'm definitely calling bull, they've been clogging my inboxes with every review they've done since last year as recent as this past weekend (three days ago) Cloverfield is not there, and it would look out of place, as most reviews come out *one week* before the movie.
Now if you could tell me who wrote the review I'd eat my hat, but...
Actually, that reminds me. No good journalist uses "..." because it implies a break in quotation, which makes quoting them difficult. And film critics LOVE to be quoted.

This stuff was posted in comments of other cloverfield blogs. someone (from another blog) thought that Guillermo Villalobos was the brother of the cab driver in Pulp Fiction.
As far as the review goes: i poured over all the movies listed on the Washington Post site that were reviewed. Nothing for Cloverfield.
