hi all, been into cloverfield since the teaser, this is my first time on uf, so no i am not a lurker or a bad robot plant, just a guy with some ideas who just found a place to express them.

Ok so i have 2 theories for the gift, both of which kinda revolve around the idea that teddy is part of tidowavea(hell maybe even le bandit vert himself) and they have found some incriminating evidence on tagruato, leading up to a huge event that tidowave will be doing on 12/9 that could lead to the eventual capture or killing of teddy, thus this is his way of keeping the evidence safe.
1. my first theory is pretty much lame and straightforward it is just a video/url with all the info telling her what is going to happen and that if he doesn't come back that she should go to the authorities.
2. my second one is that it will just be a good old fanshioned point and click digital camera, that she will be kinda dissappointed with, due to all the lead up and hype she would be disappointed that it is just a normal gift. Until 1/17/08 when she is at rob's going away party and finds out that there is a hidden folder on the memory card that came with the camera that has pics of horrible tagrauto atrocities and then she leaves early to go and try to get the pics in the hands of someone who can do something about it, thus the reason that she is not really seen at the party.

just a couple of my thoughts, but i guess we will find out soon enough, it is currently 5:46 am in NYC and nothing has been posted yet, as well teddyhanssen.com is still empty i will be checking j&t.com sporatically for the next 4.5 hours or so since i am working a graveyard and have nearly unlimited access to dick around on the net. ( i know, i know, with all this talk about bukkake berry i probably shouldn't have used the term dick around. I'm sorry.)

What if inside it is another box? Which opens to reveal another, smaller box? Inside which is yet another box...and then right before she opens up the final box, the screen dissolves to black, and the words "To Be Continued 1/18/08" appear on the screen? I am saddened to say it wouldn't actually surprise me.

Do remember that, to them, it is a REAL WORLD. So the gift, at least to Jamie, will be a real gift.

I see some people expecting her to open the gift and unroll a banner with a URL written on it... No, doesn't work that way.

Also, giving her the monster (toy, plushie, etc...) as the gift makes absolutely no sense.

My theory: A tape recorder. A pre-recorded message from Teddy. I don't expect a video, because the delivery of it would be weird. And, in that recording, there will be something more to advance what we already know.

Do not expect the Holy Grail of clues here, guys.

What I kind of meant in that statement is don't expect her to open up the box and suddenly think "HEY, THAT'S THE MONSTER!"

Whatever's in the box, there will still be some footwork for the final goal, even if there is one. For that matter, is there a goal at all, or are they simply using this machine to string us along?

The time now is 5:41 (I'm in England BTW) and I think NY is 5 hours behind, so that means it should be 12:41 where Jamie is. She really is annoyingly lazy. WAKE UP JAMIE OR I'LL SET THE CRACK FOX ON YOU!

I hadn't watched these before today, so it's funny how little info there seems to be in them, hopefully the date meant something, and wasn't just enforcing the idea that he's away for a long time. It would make sense for there to be a video about the present though.
