... If this site is OOG, it will make sense, because these posts certainly don't help anything, especially with the swiss army knife link dead.

At first I thought the list might be a code for Randy's number. But after trying some different things out, that just doesn't make sense at all.

"Cloverfield" makes me tired. Rolling Eyes

Real quick because I'm going offline for the rest of the night, but I think it's worth pointing out that the clues to tidowave weren't rocket science yet it took how many days before Ellis (who I'm not entirely sure isn't a plant) to point it out? This new post, given how odd it is, must be a clue. The border-bottom dash/hyperlinked Swiss Army Knife might not be any more complex than to simply highlight it and reinforce that highlighting by change your curser to a hand pointing at it. Sorta like, "LOOK HERE."

Beat me to it. From what I understand (read:guess) of the HTML:
Code:
span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed #0066cc; cursor: pointer" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1197335963_1"

"span style" is notifying that you're changing something in the style of the text.
"border-bottom" means "put a border on the bottom"
"1px dashed" means "make it one pixel tall and dashed"
"#0066cc" is the colour code. That particular colour is this.
"cursor: pointer" means "change the cursor into a pointer when it's hovered over the text."
"class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1197335963_1"" is commonly used, wild guess is that it specifies what kind of pointer from a catalog of pointers.

So in a nutshell, "Make it look like a link. But it's not; its just formatting."

Just for the sake of questionable ideas, here is the link to 'Swiss Army Knife' on Wikipedia:

I've got it!

When de-anagrammed, "warm towel" comes out as "war motel". Googling "War Motel", you result in www.wareagleresort.com. Because the War Eagle Resort is located near the Illinois River, and placing the "illinois river" into a search engine, I came to http://www.illinoisriver.org/, in which the motto is "Save the Illinois River", just as T.I.D.O.Wave wants to save our oceans. Coincidence? Wink

Yeah, I'm just messing with you guys. I'm drawing a blank with this thing. Razz

Another thing weird about the "Survival Kit": TIDO Wave doesn't seem like the type of organization that promotes eating jerky, unless it's tofu jerky... (if that exists). If they're gonna protect Sunda Anemone, they're gonna protect cow.
It's gotta be a secret message.

Rearranging the letters in "Swiss Army Knife", you can come up with "Fwisky Seminar".

So I guess, not only is Elmer Fudd running the TIDOWave website, but he might be bringing sexy back at the next meeting. Wink

Is it information about rescuing Teddy?

Quote:
Call to Action

The "event" discussed in our last meeting has, unfortunately, had some problems. Therefore, we'll be staging a repeat "event" for the weekend of the 14th. Please contact Randy on his green mobile for updated information.

Our attempt to infiltrate Tagruato's operation has met with problems. We will take action to resolve these on the 14th. The organic material has been liberated and Randy will have it soon.

Flower Donations

Please send all flowers and sympathy cards to Margaret. She'll pass them on to the appropriate parties.

If you can support or assist with the action, contact Margaret

OR the organic material has been sent to Jamie and she will get it to the appropriate parties. Someone must tell her that Teddy is dead.

December "Tip for the Field"

Many of you have written in and complained that when you get into a demonstration situation and it goes array, you often find yourself alone in a jail cell for hours or trapped outdoors with inadequate food, clothing, or hygiene options.

Our operatives are trapped at the site of the action. They have been captured, or they are hiding outside in bad weather.

To address this need, I've created a "Survival Kit" of essential items to take with you to any gathering, should you be captured or forced to flee society for several days.

Their lives are at risk. We need your help to get them out.

1. "Warm towel"

The location of the action is cold and wet.

I've been making pre-packaged "Survival Kits" of my own for distribution at Tidowave rallies. $30 per set. Please contact me on my cell for purchase.

I will lead the rescue team. Contact me if you can join in.

Really, has anagrams ever worked so far?
I think it might be code words for making a bomb. I can almost make a few out. "Warm towel" could be the fuse. Flare gun is self explanatory. Maybe jerky means the explosives (the "meat" of the bomb?) Swiss army knife to cut fuse. Compass: clock for a time bomb?
Then we're left with a small comb and dried fruit. Can't you pick a lock with a small enough metal comb?
And dried fruit... well, it's always good to have Elton John around when you're alone... Wink

EDIT: Organimal's idea sounds a shitload better.

got me thinking... although I am likely wrong.

1. "Warm towel"
(like you said, cold/wet place)

2. Dried fruit
(dehydrated? you can't drink the water? like a rig in the ocean?)

3. Small comb
(need a few people to search, or "comb")

4. Jerky
(quickly pull him/her/it out of there)

5. Flare gun
(wait for the signal)

6. Swiss Army Knife
(near switzerland? or be prepared macguyver style)

7. Compass
(find your own way to the meeting point? someone is lost? or you can only get there with a compass because there are no roads?)

I've been making pre-packaged "Survival Kits" of my own for distribution at Tidowave rallies. $30 per set. Please contact me on my cell for purchase.
(we will have the supplies, we need teams of about 30 people)

I know I am stretching here, but what you said makes sense to my warped brain.

swiss army knife

the attention drawn to "swiss army knife" with the weird non-linked html reminds me of how they keep shoving the swiss cheese (and hammer and oven mitt) back in our faces. could our carmen sandiego teddy hanssen be in switzerland? maybe the next website will be a .ch ?
yeah, more random straw-grasping, i know.
