[Question] Story..

Not really much is officially known about the movie, but there are many speculations.

The most we know FOR SURE is that it's about a monster attacking NYC, and the film is in the Blair Witch 'camcorder' style.

a good way to catch up is the despoiler wiki. or you might want to look through the myspace pages and jamie's videos. there is a bunch of info and character development in the myspace comments and videos.

I have looked at that site also, and it is not up to date. I know there is more, but there isnt a written account of it.

yeah i don't think its anywhere as a 'written out story' sort of thing its more of piecing the story together based on the info that's out there

wow, valv, a little reactive there... Shocked

You know... part of the fun of an ARE is expoloring how it all fits together. If you wanted someone to put it all together for you, then it's called "a book", not an ARE. Both of them take you to fictional worlds, one is more of an experience than the other.

If you really want it all spelled out.... I'm sure there are other people out there who would be greatful if you did it for them.

The Wiki will serve the purpose too. It has the story, the players and everything else.

Dude... Seriously.

If there's so much you know of that hasn't been put in the 'story so far' or the wiki then instead of being such a douche on here about what you "WANT" others to do; how's about doing everyone else a favour and writing it out step-by-step including the bits you know which aren't included or upto date, as of yet?

And remember something Jamie Lascano really needs to learn also; *I want, doesn't get*

SUMMARY (recipe) OF WHAT WE KNOW

* 7 young, partying adults who will ultimately die one by one, whose sole purpose is to be the mechanism that propels the very short, and simple story forward.

* 2 young, (one of whom is rather vacuous and stupid and deserving of her fate) adults with a particularly detailed backstory that will end up being pretty much irrelevant to the movie's .... ~"plot."~

* 1 company that needs to establish the extent of its power in order to give various characters including monster some motivation.

* 1 band of eco-warriors who accomplish nothing.

* 1 brand-name commercial beverage that assists movie producers in making lots and lots of extra cash on the side selling merchandise.

* 1 pissed-off monster (possibly with the assitance of many tiny monsters) destroys NYC; the characters; in fact, everything but the movie tape that will make up the backbone of the flick.

* Sprinkle in lots of chaos, wobbly camerawork, screaming, "OH MY GOD!"s, and flying landmark-heads...

And you've got Cloverfield.

Plot summary: Monster attacks NY. Very complicated.

NY destroyed, Central Park no longer exists. Characters just incidental and necessary only as sacrificial lambs with a camera. Many things stomped flat. The End.
