[UPDATE?, SPEC] Aunt Margaret claims site design? If this has been mentioned before, forgive me, but I haven't seen it yet, so, I thought I'd mention it. (Also, forgive me if this is on the wrong board)
Did anyone notice the hidden text on the first page? It's in white text, italicised (like the "Seek the truth, Behold the Truth, Reveal the truth" etc messages), and says simply "site aesthetic by aunt margaret". I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I first saw the site yesterday. It sounds like "aunt margaret" is taking credit for the site's new "design".
Could "behold the truth" mean "bold the truth", which would, indeed, "reveal" it if it's written in that white-on-white font? Maybe some more clues will be found in that typeface...
Incidentally, the white italicized font is called "dana_white" in the page source, but I don't know if that connects to Dana.

My mistake, that should have been [UPDATE], not [NEW]. And I forgot to put a full topic other than the labels. I'm not off to a good start, am I?
I'll be able to fix future booboos like that from now on, though.

Hi DS, welcome to Unfiction! I believe the snippets have been noted both in this forum and on the Wiki. I don't think it's referring to the fact that we need to bold it, but rather that is the means to finding the text. It seems to be a part of some communication this entity is trying to convey (ie. the shipwrecked theme).

Trout, dag nabbit *shakes his cane at these young whippersnappers*
Seriously, do check the forums and the wiki first if you believe you've made a new discovery before posting. It saves time and space.
You'd be surprised how fast we find stuff here.

Believe me, I've been reading both the forums and the wiki since yesterday, to the point that every single topic is marked as read by my browser. I'm not here because of Halo references (in fact, I learned about the Halo reference from the forums here, since I don't have an X-box, nor do I particularly like first-person shooters). I read about all the text snippets, I've read the story that's been pieced together from the garbled images.
Heck, I even checked around enough to know what you mean by trout.
I was referring specifically only to the hidden "site aesthetic by aunt margaret" (and, yes, it's all lower-case like that) message on the ilovebees front page. There's nothing about it either on the boards or on the Wikipedia, and I'm almost certain that wasn't there yesterday. Nor have I seen anything commenting about the font "dana_white" (or "dana_big", which is the font of the "HALT" message on the front page of ilovebees.com).
Just to be sure, I checked the Wiki while I was typing up this reply. No mention of either.
If it's not new, then I apologize, but if it's not new, it should be put into the Wiki.

I think it's new, at least I've never seen it.
Good catch.

Actually, it has been there (if not since the beginning than at least since Sunday.) It was mentioned in #beekeepers, tho I don't know why it was never placed on the fourms/wiki.
But anyways, it's been recorded for posterity now.

The best trout is served with a link to the prior post that makes the new one trout. Saves "are you sure we already knew that?" posts.
And FYI in general if it ain't posted here in the forums, it ain't trout. Discussion in irc is not a substitute. Too many people miss too much there for that to be a fair source of trout.

Actually, it doesn't seem to have been there since the start, since another thread (I forget which one, since I was looking for it while the site was lagging horribly yesterday) said that the site used to say "site design by dana", rather than "site aesthetic by aunt margaret".

Well I searched the forums about the "Site design by Dana" and found nothing.... moreover, I've tried to contrast/gamma enhance the blog "original" front page picture but there seems to be no white text over the background, and no mention of Dana making this site.
Odd... maybe this topic deserves more research.

I remember the "site aesthetic by margaret" being there from when I first came around... so. Three days ago at the latest it could've changed?

If anything I think this means that Dana created the website. Aunt Margaret wouldn't call herself Aunt Margaret right?

Dana may have created it, but Aunt M probably helped design the page layout.

Dana is a web monkey, so she wouldn't have put together something so awful, design-wise. It looks like Aunt Margaret made the design in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get page editor, then made Dana do the rest.
I guess both of them worked on it, but why would they bother changing the (invisible) credits. All signs point to Dana being embarassed about such awful webdesign.
