I know...that's why it was a joke...*sniff* I guess I'm just not funny.

Anyway, I've been madly Googling things I could think of concerning Tripoli, Iowa and this case. I've tried things with nuclear power and DoD and come up with nothing. Back to the drawing board for me...

I just noticed the favicon for the bullerman site (favicons are those little images that show up in your favorite listing for a site):

http://bullerman.net/favicon.ico

hm? hn? Does it look like anything to anyone?

I was just gonna say that! If it's supposed to be letters it could be hn, or m with a long top. Or maybe it's could be a text representation of a nuclear power plant. It just reminds me of a long smoke stacky-thingy or whatever it's called that emits smoke from a factory.

According to the whois, the site was registered and done yesterday and the registration is private. So now we have a name, JB.

JASON BOURNE!!!! He he...I wish...

lol, maybe not too off there! Maybe the "J" in JB DOES stand for Jason. Or, JASON.

I had thought that maybe Tripoli lined up with one of the X's on the map, but I guess not, after overlaying the two (thanks to Google maps). Rargh. Someone's got to talk to Jeff.

EDIT: Upon looking at his blog, obviously someone did (thanks Ayeso). He replied pretty plainly, just standard stuff, but here's something I found interesting.

As for tripoli city... I don't really know. It must mean something. tripole tripole tripole. hmm, i dont know.

I instantly thought "triple 'E'"! And rushed to the zip file, but no cigar. Anyone else think of something?

Okay, so the link that shows up on the /file.htm page titled Tripoli City leads me to believe that the file is, almost definitely, a map of Tripoli City with maybe some more coordinates to where Jeff should go with his camera. Did Jeff ever go to Duane Arnold? Considering nuclear power plants are like, super high security, Jeff cannot simply walk into Duane Arnold. (LOTR, lol. I'm sorry. Haha.)
Also, did anyone decode the comment that was left in Jeff's blog? I couldn't find it in the thread. It could be a hint to the password.

EDIT: Just got this email from Steve. Since I don't have that advanced cypher program (accursed mac) can someone decode it for me?

I ran the decode on Steve's email, but it's still in code:

E4A6D8A4D6E8D5E6A8A4D6E8

Hex maybe?

Didn't get anything with Hex.

That really looks like Hex though... I don't know. Argh.

EDIT: If we split this up every other one, we get...

E4 A6 D8 A4 D6 E8 D5 E6 A8 A4 D6 E8

I'm guessing that doesn't help in the least, but hey. It looks nicer. And pairs 4-6 are the same as the last 3 pairs.
