I had that as well, but it played fine after a while... and boy, was it f'ing worth it! Smile It's even more engrossing than the trailer was, and as has been noted the shaky-cam style seems to work pretty well so far... but of course, this is only five minutes of a likely two hour movie. Razz

Still, a great sequence... it ties together a lot of stuff we'd already roughly put together and presents a neat version of what we'd assumed. So much action in such a short frame of time, I just hope they can maintain such a breakneck pace. Smile

It's also interesting to see that almost all of the early scenes from the teaser trailer from Rob arriving at the party, running on to part way through their heading up to the roof has been reshot, we knew some had been redone but even the context has shifted a little, like how now it doesn't seem like Jason is suggesting outright they go to the roof, but is now more like he's asking if that's what Hud meant with suggesting going to the roof.

definitely looking forward to this... damn you, staggered release dates.

That was the Woolworth Building. And wow. Shocked Although I shouldn't be surprised, Liberty is decapitated... Time Warner Center is severely damaged, the Brooklyn Bridge collapses into the East River... I bet we'll see a few more destroyed landmarks before the film's over.

Whilst on the subject of buildings... I believe I've noticed geographical error #2 (the first being how far the apartment roof is from Broadway), you can see the Chrysler Building up 'Broadway' when the camera briefly looks up the road... It doesn't look too far away considering the apartment is below 1st Street (for numbering sake, it's somewhere between -10 street and -7 street and the Chrysler is all the way up on East 42nd Street, so it seems a little close for 42+ blocks in distance, especially as we know the section of street Liberty's head lands on is a set.

 		Ok so yeah I cannot believe I almost missed this! I thought it might have been a clip I'd seen already but decided to check it out...

Wow... That's all I have to say.

So yeah concerning what people are saying @ the beginning of the movie; the news reporter says something regarding the previous reports of an earthquake before reporting on the capsized tanker - So the "Earthquake" must have happened before this clip begins...

I'm also assuming that being as the roar happens -after- the lights have evidently gone out and they've clearly already got the news on at the "party" [who would put the damn news on at a going away party out of sheer boredom/interest?] - I'd say this definitely isn't the beginning of the film!

If you mean, where she looks sick, then yes, it's been brought up, but not elaborated upon.

Maybe the monster's presence has an effect on her. (someone's had more than six! Very Happy ).



That is a thought... I thought she had a more overly concerned look on her face-- Like she knew something no one else did.

 		i think it has tentacles too. i mean that way it cud throw the tanker and SOL head at the same time without any probs (and grab buildings...well sort of squeeze them till they collapse).

as for the leaderboard not working -> it says its updated daily or so...it has just been created so earliest update will be tomorrow!

Not necessarily... If you look @ the SoL's head the clawmarks on it seem to be dug in pretty deep; maybe he was trying to get "friendly" w/ her and then got pissed off that she didn't recipricate. Twisted Evil

 		No, it threw the oil tanker which caused the explosion, then came into the city with the head and threw it.

 		This is slightly off topic, but I have a friend who's vaguely into Cloverfield, and he told me he saw a vid that said the monster was Manhattan. He said that the fireballs from the explosions were cars, and the monster through the buildings was a tentacle. There was some more stuff about how the water wrinkle in the poster is the water rushing out, and the Brooklyn Bridge was wobbling. Most rediculous theory ever? Rolling Eyes

I don't take it seriously, I just thought it was kinda funny and worth mentioning.
