[TRIVIA] Sevens and Bungie Just like to point out that all the sevens in i<3bees so far point more and more to this being hugely Bungie related. Bungie have always been obsessed with the mystical number 7, making it a reoccurring presence in all their games, most notably Marathon
Aside from the obvious ones, I found this in the computer text :
which is of course 7 * 7 * 7. Halo also features an Artificial Intelligence known as 343 Guilty Spark.
More obscure and MUCH cooler is the fact that August 24th (the date the countdown stops) is 77 days away from November 9th (Halo 2's release date.)
These sevens aren't really clues as such, but just reinforce Bungie's involvement.
Looking forward to seeing how this game progresses.

Good theory, I personally don't think it will be related to HALO at all but possibly something bigger. It's just /way/ too easy to suspect it's HALO 2.

I don't understand what you mean about it being too easy? If the game is supposed to relate to events related to the world of Halo, it would be pretty important to establish that quickly, to help guide the players in the right direction from the start.
Don't get me wrong, it is entirely possible that this has nothing to do with Halo 2 at all, but I can't simply dismiss it because it seems to easy.

Bungie can weave some interesting puzzles indeed. If you want to get a glimpse, take a brief look at http://marathon.bungie.org/story/ All of the information there has been pulled from or involves Marathon or its sequels. Bungie has previously refrenced many documents or tales in their stories, including: the song of roland, greek history (especially pertaining to spartans and their involvement in the persian war), astronomical phenomona, multiple greek myths, gods, goddesses, oracles, and locations, norse mythology, french history, homer's illiad and oddessy, extensive use of latin, the Cthulhu mythos, the list goes on and on.
Don't underestimate these guys because they make video games for a living

678223072849 is 7 to the 14th power.

Here's what I mean: 98% of Halo2 players will never hear about this alternate reality game. There are many hints of Bungie being involved in this, and they could be, but it's just so obvious it's about HALO 2 that it just can't be. If I were to spend this much time on an ARG, I definitely wouldn't make it the most obvious thing.
Personally I think it's going to be about some huge game announcement that nobody knows Microsoft and/or Bungie has been developing.

99.9% of people that have seen A.I. never heard of the Beast, at least not before they went to see it.
My thought is that this is Halo 2 marketing campaign for the hardcore gamers (ARGN and consoles). Imagine all those PS2 owners that will love this adventure and will then go purchase an Xbox to play Halo2.
More seriously, MS is considering H2 as the biggest game launch ever. So wouldn't you create such an immersive game for it, especially when you've done it before? This time, it's their material they are working on. Expect them to have improved on their mistakess from the first Beast.
My two cents..

You mean (7^7)^2... 7^7^7 = 7^49, which is a very very big number.
Also, (7*7)^7 = 49^7 = (7^2)^7 = 7^14 = the total memory.

The recurring use of 7s and power of 7s makes it pretty clear that this is Bungie's game we're playing. 7 is their calling card.
Also, the link to the Halo 2 trailer suggests that it's linked to Halo.
The last time Bungie did something like this, it was the Cortana Mails, which not only tied together the Marathon and Halo storylines, but also expanded on the idea of a rogue AI loose on our current-day networks.
I personally believe this is the next chapter in that particular metastory, as started in the Marathon games, continued in 1999 with the Cortana mails, and now this.
I've written a lengthy article on it so far, complete with links to many other sources of discussion, but everything I've seen so far seems to point to this being a continuation of that story. ESPECIALLY one quote from the first Marathon game, talking about how the first rampant AI's were discovered in the late 21st century. A rampant AI goes through three emotional stages - Melancholy, Anger and Envy.
It sure as hell looks like The Operator (or whatever we're calling it) is melancholy here, and being 'repaired' by the SPDR (Spider? Widow?) entity. Could we be seeing the first generation of a rampant AI here. That's my theory, at least - and it does seem backed up with the facts that Bungie have given us so far.
http://etoychest.org/news.php?extend.1261 - my article. Links to all the Cortana mails, Marathon story etc etc.

Glad I could be of help. I saw this first last night - the trailer, and after noticing the 'Ilovebees.com' reference, I chased it up.
The combination of 'Bungie' and 'Halo' and what seems like a half-insane AI, combined with what they've done in the past just clicked together for me.
I figure that's what we're dealing with. The first rampant AI's, as mentioned in Marathon. It fits the information I have so far, at least.
