Burrowing? I don't think it burrows anywhere. It smashes a building down, that's it. And a building can cause a TON of debri and dust and smoke. Just looke at the 9/11 disaster. The clouds were staggering. Smaller building, but still damned big, I'm not surprised there is a huge dust cloud.

After re-watching it a couple times, I think I agree with you. Thank God...I was gonna be ripe and pissed if the monster could go underground, that would take away lots of chances at seeing it.

However, I still think the new, sharper image of the monster crossing between the buildings make it look more like it's either arching as it moves, or on four legs instead of being a bipedal creature.

Yeah, I don't think it's bipedal now, we can see that it doesn't appear to have a tail, so nothing to counterbalance all that weight in front of the legs. The nearer leg travels a huge distance upwards, doesn't seem like it's balancing on one leg all that time.
4 or more legs. I think. 8 if it's a waterbear.

I just received an e-mail from Paramount asking me to take down the Cloverfield widget:

final changes / fixing bugs, so that everyone's widget works properly
and tracks their grabs properly. Because you posted before it's
official launch, we can not guarantee that your data will be saved and
that your Grab numbers will be correct.

I think the best thing to do is to take it down until we launch
officially (hopefully within the next hour) and post it then to ensure
your data will be correctly stored...

If anyone else have this posted, please remove it for the time being. I'll let you know when it officially goes live.

Wait, so Paramount knows about your page? Shocked Silly

So, anyone else realize that, if Grumpypants threw the tanker into the city, then those news helicopters filming the tanker (that everyone was watching on the news) would have definitely seen Grumpypants picking up the tanker and ripping off the SOL head.....

They should've stayed and watched the news!! shit!

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Those helicopters must have seen everything as it happened. They must have seen Grumpypants come out of the water and rip the SOL's head off then wander off in the general direction of Lower Manhattan.

Unless they were wiped out. However, could it be that the 'copters we see in the poster and have always assumed to be Military are in fact News 'copters?

[EDIT] Can't you picture it? Remember the cloud of news helicopters following a white Bronco down the California freeway?

not if the THING sort of gave the tanker a kick from underwater and then remained below sea level. (all they wud have seen is a shadow i spose)

and of course paramount knows about cloverfieldclues blogspot... i mean that site must get almost as much (if not more) visits then the official cloverfield site.

Dennis deserves this WIN!

I can think of no one better than Dennis to win this screening. The hours it takes to constantly update a site like his is incredible.

Funny story for you Dennis. Last night when I showed my wife the widget, she cursed JJ Abrams for taking me away from her. And then she was, surprisingly and for more minutes than in our entire relationship...quiet. Thanks JJ.

Good Luck Dennis!

I got as far as virtually possible to try and get the video downloaded. As might have been said before, this is streaming video, therefore, because of the way it works, you can't download it. I have accessed the path of the streaming video, however. For the curious, it is at:

Code:
rtmp://cp30.edgefcs.net/ondemand/paramount/mp/cloverfield/clearspring

I can try and get a version that you can put on PMPs.

I got the video downloaded...

I used a program called Orbit Grab++

http://www.orbitdownloader.com/How-to-Download-RTMP.htm

it is in *.flv format.

I used this link to download the stream from:

http://widgets.clearspring.com/o/475a0f5f7f2007c8/4761c0532cb94bf2

BTW: the video is 20.9MB, and can be played using FLV Player:
