I have a feeling the answer is hidden in here somewhere, as in it probably is an extremophile. However, an enormous waterbear is not insane or intense enough in my terms.

My expectations are naturally heightened.

There are intriquing implications in this Extremophilosophy. It makes one wonder if there are other uses for the technology.

It's always tragic when a grumpy farmhand doesn't like his harvest getting snatched.

Surprised How could a humongous waterbear not be insane or intense enough?
I appreciate in regards to yourself, that it fails in that respect, but for us mere mortals it is a fantastic concept, in fact think of this these creatures are found in there billions everywhere whatever mutates MGP if it is a waterbear then doesnt that also suggest that more of them could appear?? just my two cents! Smile

note the following:

How is it possible that an animal can be found almost everywhere and at the same time is unknown to almost everybody? Just try and ask your neighbour whether he or she knows or believes in an animal which:

— lives nearby, including cities
— moves smoothly like a bear, has legs, claws, eyes, skin and muscles
— has the colour and surface texture of one of those sweet bear gums loved by children
— doesn't need to carry along a knife and fork as it has two in-built knives
— can revert to an "instant coffee"-dry state which resists storage in liquid nitrogen, contact with mineral acids, organic solvents, radioactive radiation and boiling water. After this kind of brute "scientific" scrutiny the miraculous creature is still able to return to normal life—it needs only a small droplet of water!

Well, I guess since no one knows about it, that's where all the shock value would lay. Discovering that a monster the size of the Chrysler building is really a giant plankton that can't be killed with any imaginable conventional methods would probably shock me too.

King Kong was killed by bullets, Godzilla was killed my missiles... MGP might need a pair of nukes.

Eggs/ Small monsters

Couldn't find it posted anywhere, but I found this

"Many tardigrades leave their eggs in their discarded skin when they molt."
and
"The eggs are oval and deposited in the exuvium." (dead exoskeleton)

here
http://pathfinderscience.net/tardigrades/cbackground.cfm

Which is interesting given the rumours about small creatures coming from the scales being attacked or scraped off.

Also, probably less relevant:
"They survive times of flood or lack of oxygen by swelling up like a balloon (anoxybiosis) and floating around for a few days."

Tardigrade

Lurking here since October. Had a thought about the tardigrade theory. Decided to post.

Is it possible what fell from the satellite/space was an experiment using tardigrades, (extremophiles), on either the Japenese govt. 'ChimpanzIII' or the Hatsui satellite?

And tardigrade + deep ocean + seabed's nectar = MGP?

I realize that would possibly lead to more than one GP, btw. (Maybe there were bunches of GPs and one ate the others...lol).

So I was thinking about the Water Bears and remember reading a while back about the fact that they can be frozen or completely dried out and as soon as they are brought back to survivable temperatures and/or rehydrated they come back to life. So assuming the monster is one of these Extremophiles (which I am ONLY doing for the sake of this particular train of thought) I think I have a theory...

If you were an evil japanese corporation experimenting with tardigrades and something went out of control what would you do with said failed trouble experiment. Nothing can really harm these things and the only place they could at least be reigned in would be in a very cold place where they could stay frozen forever. Unfortunately with the advent of BoldFutura's drilling technology the ocean floor is no longer safe. hmm where would a safe place be? How about....SPACE!

Hence the emergency launch of the satellite even though it was stormy. Maybe it was in a last ditch effort to "Ensure our future" lol

I don't know just running with the idea and there are many holes in my theory, but it's as plausible as anything else we've heard so far lol

I just wanted to bring this post I had from Nov 30th back to the forefront. With the advent of the knowledge that something fell back to earth and landed in the atlantic it makes this theory more viable.

EDIT: wrong post date
