Re: [META] Wow look at this......
about how we are wasting our time

How really goofy have you been looking at trailers, analyzing web sites, asking what's in the "tanker"? Well I don't mean to be a spoiler to the party but how many people have "found" anything relevant to this move? I got an estimate and it equals........ZERO! It's the absolute truth all our theories and relative idiocracy have led to what....Bull POOP!

Uh, yeah - sure. We didn't predict the possibility of a tanker being involved and that didn't turn out to be true, did it? Oh wait...

I believe that this is a lesson that Abrams is teaching us, we are just plain dumb. Pure and simple we are stupid enough to think this was actually solvable by any means. Think when this movie comes out on DVD he'll call it the "Cloverfield Experience and how dumb a person with a computer can be."

I'm not sure, but I think someone else is proving how dumb a person with a computer can be.

No one has found jack poo! More or less this is a "media event" like we report but never find anything.

Yeah, because there's just no indication at all that Tagruato has anything to do with the movie.

Let's get real discussion just leads to hype. I'm glad you enjoyed making Abrams rich 'cuz he's laughing in your face at this moment at the projections this film will be recieving.

It's all a conspiracy, because making people you'll never know look stupid is so much more important than enjoying your work and making money.

All I'm saying is we're barkin up a tree that's made of plastic it's just a builder for the movie, I will guarantee half the crap anyone has seen doesn't end up in final cut. And that includes the trailers look at the newest one, yes similar, but completely outta whack different.

Most of the footage we have seen in the teaser, the first part of the trailer, and in the most recent clip have been the same scene - with minor variations as it was apparently reshot and edited together. Some of the scenes in the trailer and teaser that were broken up or out of sequence are now contiguous and in sequence in the clip. What's been shown to us has been building on itself more than anything. So, are you suggesting that it's all BS and the movie is going to be about the Smurfs or what?

By the time this comes out I bet we'll see something that we have never expected, and to this I hope we do! Who wants to figure a movie out before ya see it?

Never read a book before seeing it made into a movie, have you?

NOT A GAME YET?!?!?!

Damn, all that time i wasted on making little Slusho Seven game pieces..... Fuckbeans!!

Seriously, though, and i say this in a totally non-contrabending way(ahem). This was always intended to be a game in some form, I think. Just not in the usual fashion. It may simply be the building blocks for another , larger, more expansive ARG. All will be revealed, in it's own time, i think.

What we, as the unforum community, are doing right now is basically erecting the worlds largest water-cooler. The honored few who have been here from the beginning got the ball rolling, and as time passed, more people found their way here, lurked, and had the chance to see these folks in action. It pleased some of them to join in, and quite a few stayed and lurked, but more importantly, it rippled out. Whether the impression you got was that this was a game, or a discussion panel, didn't matter, you were getting updates, and good information, for the most part.

This game/panel/soapbox was the advertising, and still is in large part. How many people do you know? How many friends have you gotten hooked on this site? How many of you have grabbed the widget, or created Slusho/Cloverfield themed Myspace accounts? How many more will come in in the next few weeks seeking answers? This place, along with Dennis at Cloverfield Clues(cheap pop!) took two or three unassuming websites and created a small whirlwind of excitement over a two minute trailer with little or no information.

And it worked.

I'll reiterate something I said in another post. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But sometimes, i wish they'd have the insight to keep the really bad ones to themselves.

Now enjoy the friends you make here, and discuss any new leads in a civilized way, and be open to ideas. I think keeping an open mind is the key to anything, except maybe inter-species dating.

Very Happy

God forbid that people get together and enjoy a game.

I'm sure that JJ Abrams isn't laughing at us or any other community who is participating in this ARG that Paramount studios set up for us; he's probably smiling and is proud that his work is getting this uch attention.

Exactly. If only more people would simply enjoy what they're given. We live in an instant gratification society. Nice to see people have the patience to wait for something good.

The best things about movies like this are the anticipation and discovery.
They are at their best before their release, since most genre movies almost never live up to the hype.

Not that I'm saying Cloverfieled will suck...just that we should enjoy ourselves while we can.

I wonder if some of the hope that it's a game comes from the people who followed the Ethan Haas stuff, that seems to be the closest Cloverfield has been to a game, even though it wasn't even related!

BTW: Since you brought it up... for those here that aren't aware, Mindstorm Labs has released the date that Alpha Omega will ship to their customers.

The date? 1/18/08.
