The link for the myspace page doesn't work on my computer. Could someone post it here?

Is this the right place to discuss the potential task for the Three of Clubs, or should we start a new topic/go to the despoiler wiki/other?

Here is fine, but I would say that.

I e-mailed Amanda with
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
52, based on the quotation from AIW in chapter two where she tries to do her four times table (four times five is twelve, four times six is thirteen, etc., which would make four times thirteen equal to 20).
... but she replied to say I was wrong.

I have now tried with
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
16, based on the Radiohead song 2+2=5, which should mean that 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=20
, so we shall see what happens.

We tried playing around w/ how to get to twenty . . .

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Since the math Alice uses in the book is 4x5=12 in base 18 and 4x6=13 in base 21, and you can't actually get to 20 that way (4x13=1A, not 20, in base 42), and the Radiohead song playing in the background is called "2+2=5," we made up the following and emailed it to Amanda:

"From the Pool of Tears, we know that:
4x5=12
and
4x6=13.
Therefore,
(4x5)+(4x6)=12+13
=25.
From Yorke's theorem, we know that:
2+2=5.
Therefore,
(4x5)+(4x6)-(2+2)=12+13-5
=25-5
=20.
Q.E.D."

We thought we were being very clever, but here was Amanda's response:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Good that you showed yr work, but the math has CHANGED! You can't use the old math! Or the old new math! Whatever! XP"

So here's what we think:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybe we're on the right track in terms of presentation, but we're not supposed to use Alice's equations (the old math) or the Radiohead equation (the old new math). We're not sure whether this means (a) make something up, (b) find something hidden, or (c) other.

Any thoughts?

doublecross was right here's what I sent her:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Since 2+2 always makes 5
Then to get to twenty add (2+2)+(2+2)+(2+2)+(2+2) = 5+5+5+5 = 20

another interesting formula is in your name:
If A and D are both negative numbers then
A+M+A+N+D+A = (-1)+13+(-1)+14+(-4)+(-1) = 20
just an interesting side note Smile

to which she replies:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Wow! Two new ways to get to twenty! You're not done yet! lost.htm

I've read through the page she sends us to and I sent her what I think she asked for

Amandaīs Puzzle

Hey, everyone. Yesterday I send Amanda a e-mail with the formula to get to 20:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
20= 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2 (based on Radiohead song 2+2=5)

Then, she return:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That's it! lost.htm
This link has a lot of pictures. I send another e-mail asking her if I can be in Image 27 (this image has a Silver Ladder).
She asked me to see a picture of me in the internet.
Meanwhile I send her a friend notification on My Space.

This morning I received a e-mail from her:
