Because you asked...the way we "enforce" (if you can call it that) search before posting is to have people post links to exisiting threads and then mark the new thread as trout. Then people don't post in that thread, something I am technically violating by posting this, and like magic, the thread soon drops away.

Also, someone may ask them to search the next time. People who aren't used to searching before starting a new thread catch on quickly.

Of course, searching before posting and minimizing duplicative threads are both extremely good things.
