I just want to confirm that the tanker that capsized IS a Tagruato tanker. I saw it with my own eyes. Shocked I bumped up the widget to 1600x900 and got a decent screen cap. You can clearly see the Tagruato "Hand of Power" logo.

Comparison:

[question] what scene was that?

Is that as the monster was passing? [right before the E.S.B. falls]

Woolworth Building, not the Empire State.

Hold up- since it's really a Taggy ship, doesn't anyone (Rob, anyone else at the party) recognize the ship? This is said on the terms that Rob works for Taggy or knows about it, which seems belivable.
Could it just be that they didn't see the logo?

(lol Cornholio)

What if the "Multiple Sightings of Case Designate 'Cloverfield'" is referring to the monster? As in, multiple sightings of the monster, named Cloverfield? Just a thought.

What I don't get about this contest is where websites are in any way eligible, and if they 'win' then who gets the prize? That just seems like BS to me.

For those that want to see this widget and not chance skewing any results anywhere:

Obviously, the people who run the websites would technically be the winner. In my case, I run CloverfieldClues by myself, but I am not a "website". I am just a huge fan with website.

However, I would keep only a handful of the 30 invitations for myself, and I would give the rest of them away to readers of my site and members from unFiction (and CameronJr9). Anyone willing to drive to Lexington, KY would be invited.

I agree with your point... even though I have a popular Cloverfield blog, there's no way I can compete with huge movie sites like AICN or Slashfilm. Just imagine if a giant mass market site like Entertainment Weekly entered the ring.

Yeah, the ones who 'run' the website. Like what, 20 people at least for many of those sites? Being a corporate entity like that with the means to promote things and the experience to do it means they have a seriously unfair advantage. It's not like the skill of one person showing what they can do, it's people being paid to do this. That's the ripoff to me. It's pretty clear that although you use a domain name and have that blog, it's just you doing it all - and nobody is paying you to do it (that we know of Wink ). What are those companies going to do when they win 1 camera? The boss will get it, right? Or will there be some competition they'll do internally to make those that worked towards the goal (albeit paid) earn it again?

I figured you'd be generous like that, considering your overall generosity and respect you've shown for other fans. If you win the showing I also figured you'd be arranging to have some of your readers and members here see the show with you. I seriously doubt I could make it, but I would feel no resentment towards the other 20 or so people who could make it. That situation to me represents the best way Paramount, Bad Robot, et al could show appreciation for the exposure our work has brought them. We may do this because we enjoy it, but it doesn't make 'thank you' any less welcome.

It's pretty simple, they should disqualify all those sites. Let them have the grab numbers for bragging, but screw giving them prizes.

Veruca Salt didn't deserve a Golden Ticket, did she? At least we know she got her justice in the end.

This is probably irrelevant, but on Hud's myspace, he says he has an xbox 360 and I know somebody noticed a 360 in the party scene. So it's a possibility that it was at Hud's house/Rob and Hud are roommates. This isn't really useful information, but you know. Meh.

I think it was established early on that HUD and Rob are roommates. I would assume this is Rob's apartment the party is being thrown in. Especially since he seems so comfortable holding the remote to the TV. Circumstantial evidence at best, but for now, it'll have to do.

I'd have to agree with you on that, and i'm sure many people would.

Meh to competition, yay to first five minutes of the moofie!!!

May I just say, the moofie is now officially second from top of my list of must-sees these holidays (nothing's knocking Sweeney Todd off the top, not nothing not no-how) after seeing those first five minutes. I do, however, want to draw attention to what seems to be very skittish pacing - is it just me, or does anyone else think this movie will be over in an hour and a half, and very little will have been done? I just hope it slows down later in the movie - I don't want "RUN TO THE NEXT PLACE...NO, GRUMPYPANTS IS THERE, RUN TO THE NEXT PLACE...NO, GRUMPYPANTS' BABIES ARE THERE, RUN TO THE NEXT PLACE" or whatever for 90 minutes.

Oh, btw, sorry for being absent for the last week. I was away from my computer, down at a science, technology and social science conference for high school students in my country's capital of Wellington. I missed craploads, it would appear.

I still think that CloverfieldClues is a mole sent in by Paramount to deceive all of us and drag this thing on until the theatrical release date, but that's just my opinion. Wink
