I'm no good with code at all.. It just looks like binary with 16 and 17 dropped in at random places.

Yeah that is what I was thinking too. I just did not say it... I think both would be good. Though this one is a good one.

I thought that too, sadly no though.

Trying 0 = A, 1 = B, 16 = Q, 17 = R there are a total of 752 characters divide that by 4 = 188 sets of 4
Can't make anything of it though.

The last PM code was more then one code, right? Maybe this time the PM decided to make it harder by wrapping it in more then two or three codes.

the master can be mean at times Barbecue sounds good to me considering what I have been working on.
The last puzzle was this:
Quote:
Your new puzzle will be a key to unlocking the frequency.
"What are the letters to the book of life?"
I guess the answer was AGTC if so then that is a key to unlocking the frequency. If this puzzle is the frequency then maybe this will work. Take the above where I changed the numbers to letters then run that through vigenere using AGTC as the key and we get this.
Code:
BVIP BVIP ALXZ ALHZ BUXO ALHP BVXO BKYY BUXZ BUIP
BUYO BKYP BKHO ALHP BUYO BKYY BKHO BKXZ BUHO ALHY
BKHO BLXZ BUHO ALHY BKIY BVIP ALIZ BKYY BUXZ BUIP
BKYY BLIZ BUYY BKIP ALHY BUXP BUIY BVHZ BLHY BUIP
BKHZ BVIP ALIZ BKXP BUXZ BUXY BVHO BKYP BKHZ BVXY

BUYO BVIZ BVHO BVIZ ALIY BLIZ BUXZ BUIZ BVHO BVHY
BVIY BKXZ BKIY BVIZ BUXZ BUIZ BLXY BUXO BVIZ ALHZ
BVHO BUIO BVIY BKXZ ALIY BKIP BVHP BUIZ BVIO BUYZ
BVIZ BUHP BUHO BUYO BVHO BVHP BUIZ ALYZ
the letters would be A B H I K L O P U V X Y Z the numbers would be either 0 1 7 8 10 11 14 15 20 21 23 24 25 or 1 2 8 9 11 12 15 16 21 22 24 25 26
Does anybody see anything in that mess.
Using A=1, B=2, etc.. and then converting the result from decimal to ascii gets this strange stuff:

If you run it through a caesar cipher decoder using AGTC as a key this is what you get with 0 shift:
Code:
EEES EEES ASRE ASAE EARR ASAS EERR ERSA EARE EAES
EASR ERSS ERAR ASAS EASR ERSA ERAR ERRE EAAR ASAA
ERAR ESRE EAAR ASAA EREA EEES ASEE ERSA EARE EAES

EEEA ERRE EREA EEEE EARE EAEE ESRA EARR EEEE ASAE
EEAR EAER EEEA ERRE ASEA ERES EEAS EAEE EEER EASE
EEEE EAAS EAAR EASR EEAR EEAS EAEE ASSE
I don't know if any of this means anything or not but you guys can try it and see if you can make anything out of shifts 1-25. http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/caesar-keyed.php

What if you take the original numerical code and use 0=A, 1=G, 16=T, 17=C or however the order of the blog title was? It's late and I don't have the time to type all that out, but it could be it?

I was really hoping the character count would be divisible by 3, since that way we could use DNA encoding to get an answer. I still think we should look into that, since there's four possible letters to use, and only four numbers used in the cipher.
There are two questions we should ask:
1) Why does the cipher include only these four numbers: 0, 1, 16, 17?
What if the code was in octal? Instead of 16 and 17, that'd be 14 (P) and 15 (Q). Not that that's more useful...
2) If the cipher does not use DNA encoding, what use do the AGTC letters have?

Well, I've had no luck I've tried a couple of different things... I looked into the idea of this being some form of wave that could be plotted out to get a specific frequency. I went to wiki to find out about calculating frequency and such, but when plotting it out on a graph it just looked sad. I figured this must not be the right way to go.
I then looked at the option of morse code (which I think someone mentioned earlier... or maybe they said binary)
I looked up the morse code alphabet (also at wiki... probably the best resource around) and noticed there are a few different types of morse like American railroad, International, etc. I also tried to key in on the fact that he kept on mentioning an antique radio that was used in his experiments. According to wiki, many antique radios first ran on a type of morse with continuous wave (cw). My head started hurting around this time so I'm pretty much stumped at the moment and need to go lay down.
Maybe I was on the right track and maybe not, but I'll let you guys evaluate this info and see if it was going anywhere.

Its a new concept...ill give you that... strange that he even relates to this as an arg, ive not seen that before.
I've seen a similar concept pop up in another ARG, which will remain nameless.

googled "Frequencizer" and it is a real intellectual property.. don't have time to read it all. there might be a prototype.. interesting what i did read

Expanding on that...
RANDOM SPEC:
Note we have four digits (weather you use AGTC or the ABRQ scheme). 4x4=16. Assumption: Each pairing represents a Hex digit. I built a simple matrix, and enuerated the digits accordingly:
Code:
A G T C
A 0 1 2 3
G 4 5 6 7
T 8 9 A B
C C D E F
Doing the conversion gives us:
Code:
57 57 39 31 4A 33 5A 6C 49 47
4E 6F 62 33 4E 6C 62 69 42 30
62 79 42 30 64 57 35 6C 49 47
6C 75 4C 67 30 4B 44 51 70 47
61 57 35 6B 49 48 52 6F 61 58
4D 67 62 58 56 7A 61 58 4E 6A
61 57 46 75 4C 43 42 68 62 6D
51 67 53 53 64 73 62 43 42 30
64 57 35 6C 49 48 6C 76 64 53
42 70 62 69 42 6D 64 58 4A 30
61 47 56 79 4C 67 30 4B 44 51
70 55 56 56 4A 4F 49 45 4A 42
51 30 73 75 49 46 4A 56 54 69
42 42 56 30 46 5A 4C 69 42 45
54 30 34 6E 56 43 42 4D 53 56
4E 55 52 55 34 75 49 45 52 50
54 69 64 55 49 45 78 4A 55 31
52 46 54 69 34 67 53 45 56 4D
55 43 42 4E 52 53 45 3D
And translating to text gives:
Code:
WW91J3ZlIGNob3NlbiB0byB0dW5lIGluLg0KDQpGaW5kIHRoaXMgbXVzaXN
jaWFuLCBhbmQgSSdsbCB0dW5lIHlvdSBpbiBmdXJ0aGVyLg0KDQpUVVJOI
EJBQ0suIFJVTiBBV0FZLiBET04nVCBMSVNURU4uIERPTidUIExJU1RFTi4gSE
VMUCBNRSE=
Not much to look at, but it's a wild theory. I find it interesting that I didn't wind up with any special characters or funky looking crap... Which is why I posted it, it's possible that I've got the right idea but got the enumeration wrong (I don't want to grind through all the possible combinations, and since I'm doing this on my lunch break I don't have a box handy to grind through it for me).
Here's an alternate thought: He mentioned frequency. Perhaps it's not the pairings themselves that are important, but their frequency?
I also find it interesting that he's taken a leap from using fairly unsophisticated coding methods, to something that appears to be terribly... Convoluted. But maybe I'm over-thinking it (as is my habit).
