Also, I'm not sure if this is the first you've heard of the new site, but it was posted by a new user at my magazine's 1UP.com. forums. Here's his address: http://www.1up.com/do/my1Up?publicUserId=5457094
Note that he created an account to leave the message and offers no other info.

Yeah this seems a bit too inelegant to be part of the game proper.

Oh I'm quite certain this is a fan-profit effort. It kinda happened naturally during the AI game and nobody really complained. It has gained more prominence with each one, although tending to be run by group mods. This is just an attempt to get there first (and presumably make whatever money there is to be made). Personally I'll wait for a more-talented design effort. And I prefer polo shirts anyway. Very Happy

I ordered a T-shirt for the hell of it. And also sent out 5 coupons codes out for placing the order to show friends. I also recieved a coupon.

Interesting fact.
The valid to date (Aug 24th again) , and possibly the coupon code plays a part, not sure.
Quote:

Per your request, we just sent five of your friends an e-mail with a coupon for $5 off any purchase of $20 or more. This is the only communication your friends will receive from us unless they request to be e-mailed again.

For your trouble, here is your coupon code: POETICBOUGH (valid until Aug 24, 2004).

We hope to serve you again shortly!

You'll know it's game-sponsored if they use a pic of Margaret that we haven't seen anywhere else.

Until that time, just know that you're putting money in someone else's pocket. Wink
