Haha, I'm still wondering where Dennis got this picture:

It's the same as the hacked dumbo pic, but without the extra lines to hide the roman numerals.
Was it taken from something OOG that was already on the net?

FWIW, the clueless image was the first uploaded by the hacker. So those of us who were quick to grab a copy of it, got it. The image with the numerals/names/clues was uploaded an hour or two after the initial hack and replaced the clueless image..

 		Yes, I'm curious as to whether it was on purpose or not.

I actually found the differences by "subtracting" the images, but turns out I'd missed the discovery earlier in a giant post.

I'm glad someone paid attention to that post! I was totally psyched when I found that item, but it didn't seem to draw much attention. In retrospect, I probably should have titled the thread differently (maybe, Paramount to Release Five Minute Cloverfield Preview). But like you, I knew my vintage cellphone wasn't going to be in on this fun. Anyway, thanks for your great work on this!

Ah cool, that explains it thanks. I remember a large image being replaced with a smaller one.
That probably explains why I couldn't find any hidden messages when I first saw it Sad

 		Okay, am I the only one confused about how this damn thing works? I just looked at Dennis' widget and it says there are 1595 "Grabs." Then I visit the leaderboard, and he's now at 4th place with only 387 "Grabs." So...which is it? How does this thing work? And what's the difference in the "Grabs"? Question

from my understanding, it seems that the "Grabs" on your page represent how many times it has been viewed on that page.

Whereas the "Grabs" on the leaderboard represent how many people embedded the video from CloverfieldClues.com onto their own page, AND had someone successfully view it.

 		I noticed that as well. It's obviously a technical issue. While the widget is fun and high-tech and all that, it's not yet perfect and, I'm guessing, but high maintenance in so far as you have to not only guard against user error, but malicious high-tech cheats/hacks. I'm not sure it's going to end well or clean.

p.s. grabs don't equal views. otherwise, clues grabs would be much higher.

As would everyone else's.

My point was that they changed the rules from "views" to "view, embed, have someone else view it", and the different grab count signifies that.

Or I'm wrong, that works! Laughing

 		Quick question. The "leaderboard" at http://www.cloverfieldmovie.com/contest/- is that still alive? It doesn't look like it, since it says Harry Knowles of AICN has 836 grabs, when he really only has 529, that /Film has 522 instead of 158, and that Dennis has 387 instead of 1601. I'm guessing they kinda forgot about it?

 		remember dennis found it before it went live, i.e a bit buggy, i saw that the other day and looked, when i first grabbed dennis' it showed 600 grabs when the contest went live but it only showed about 50 on the leaderboard, my guess is they never reset the grabs prior to going live

and/or its the just grabbed vs. grabbed and watched

EDIT: WTF, where did Dawny come from? i've never saw anyone over 100 (2 days ago was the last i checked) aside from slash/AICN/IESB/Clues and News/ and the css one and now theres this one called Dawny that i've never seen before have 500 grabs...

EDIT 2:...ok..now theres a LordBlaco FIRST, i never saw him up there before, and i last checked this morning, and he has 950 grabs...i smell a glitch/hack here...
