All I want from this Slusho/Tagruato online experience (I just can't call it an ARG after The Beast and ILoveBees) is the backstory they won't be able to give during the movie.

My prime example is the movie that seems to get referenced a lot in relation to Cloverfield. The Blair Witch Project had A LOT of backstory that was presented online and in various other forms like the mockumentary "Curse of the Blair Witch". The filmmakers decided that having the backstory in the movie messed up the "you are there" feeling and removed it. The movie is ok without it, but you really don't get the total package unless you're familiar with the backstory.

So, what I'm hoping to see is a movie that keeps the suspense and mystery that the first person POV gives. No lengthy explanations about the monsterand no real exposition as to the monster's reason for heading to NYC. Really, can you imagine HUD sitting down with a Tagruato scientist and having a conversation in the midst of the calamity? Me neither. Just have the disaster and people's reaction and go from there. If we get that, then the online marketing pays off for those who follow it because we know a bit more than everyone else and get a different experience.
