[Spec] anyone get the feeling this movie will end..... hey guys,
does anyone else get the feeling that the movie will end with the monster still being alive, and that it will have just totally trashed a large part of america?
the military thing at the start of the tape leads me to think that the monster had not been found/killed. also, it would make for a freaking cool sequel. they couldnt destroy it with all their military....which country is next>?!

I think that was the point of the labeling of US Site 447. Which to me means that New York isn't the only place affected by the monster, this is just the beginning

No because America has never lost...just joking.
It should attack communism in general in the sequel...not joking.

It ain't Godzilla stuff The creature will either be killed or 'get away' somehow. I don't think audiences would buy it if the monster gets out on open ground and isn't literally blown to smithereens by a few Apache choppers. The buildings are the only thing keeping it safe really. Even NYC doesn't have enough 40 story buildings to hide it for long...

I don't think some Apache choppers and some rinkydink missles can take Grumpypants down...

Hold Up... If anyone here played StarCraft (Old Game), the Zerg burrowed units into the ground... Maybe Clover/GP was injured and by then he was by a soft ground area and burrowed underground... then...
BOOM
Cloverfield 2...

I don't think it will need the buildings to hide behind. Remember this isn't inspired by that God Aweful [French made] American Godzilla... this is inspired by the O.G. himself... And the military had absolutely NO effect on him then. It took an "Oxygen Destroyer" to kill the first Godzilla.
I don't even know what an "Oxygen Destroyer" is, but it sounds pretty damn hardcore.

I honestly think there are multiple monsters.
I mean, the trailer indicates that there are more then just this one site where a 'incident' like this occured.
There are multiple drilling stations that Tagruato owns and opperates, and it is widely believed that Tagruato is behind the monster in some way. So, maybe Tagruato creates/awakens a monster from each drilling site, thus multiple monsters and multiple attacks happening.
OR, the monster just lives and eventually attacks other places and other countries

The thought of that did cross my mind.
Funny story my friend and I were playing the 64 version and kicking ass and we got this one level where when you finally get to look around we were completely surrounded by Zerg it was f'n crazy they took up all the screen at one point.

Matt Reeves on the labeling:
"As for that "case designate" reference, anyone who has seen the clips from the film knows that "Cloverfield" is the case name that the government has assigned to whatever or whoever is doing all that destruction in New York.
"In the way that the Manhattan Project was the name of that program, that's what this is," says the director, though he specifies that doesn't mean that it was created by the government the way the Manhattan Project was. "And it's not a project per say. It's the way that this case has been designated. That's why that is on the trailer, and it becomes clearer in the film. It's how they refer to this phenomenon [or] this case."

Yeah I said when I first heard the title Cloverfield that it sounded like a government designation for a case.
What I ment in my comment was the numbering 447 etc. I would imagine there are higher numbers
