the mystery of the keyboard

Was back to the PS site and notices something curious about the computer keyboard. It is an Imac one, obviousyl, but I did a double verify against my old GS keyboard, but there are 4 extra symbols on certain keys.

As a rule, when Apple does a secondary character on their key, it is to the top LEFT. On all 4 of the keys, they now sport 4 right characters, making 3 chars per key. The keys affected are

control
2
Clear
Option

I tried those combinations during the flash but nothing obvious occured. Anyone else care to speculate on this one?

You might want to double-check it against a European Mac keyboard. They tend to add extra functionality to existing keys--for instance, the Euro symbol (which, I believe, is what is on the "2") and compositing characters (things that will combine a ´ and an e to give you é).

Ouch, had never seen the European keyboard and since Ps originates out in London,...bleah, morning madness out here, consider this speculation a waster of time. Sigh. (seemed like a good idea at the time though Smile

When I first saw the keyboard I thought it might be a clue too, but, yeah, definitely seems to just be the european version. Even found this site which lists the differences between the american and european keyboards and it matches up.

And while I'm posting, figure I'll say hi. Got here from a slashdot piece on the ilovebees.com thing, but as I'm not a halo player this seemed more interesting. I'll probably just be lurking for a while, but if I have anything constructive to say I'll definitely speak up.

If this game follows the AI model at any level, being a halo player will only be moderately helpful. To use a real example, at some point we will need a lute player to decipher something. Or a botanist. or a lawyer. You never know what comes in handy. A large community, with lots of interests and obscure knowledge therefore is necessary. So don't give up! (I view halo knowledge almost as a drawback, because those who have it seem far too fixated on that and may not be watching the big picture or looking for other kinds of puzzles.)

No, just responding to his comment that he came to this forum because he thought ilovebees would be all halo.
