Well, in the video we have from when they were shooting those fatal last scenes, we see Rob and Beth under a bridge and then a tarp gets placed beside them which either gives the illusion of the bridge collapsing or Grumpypants stalking by the bridge...which would then lead to the bridge collapsing. So I'm thinking they die by being crushed by the bridge. OR being crushed by the bridge but also with grumpypants' massive weight on top of that, causing them to simply become liquid.

Yeah thats what i had seen earlier thanks for finding it again. I'm at work and youtube is a bit to obvious so i couldnt even really watch the video lol

If they do die underneath the bridge, i hope there is a government explanation of what happened afterwards to make up for it.

 		Maybe they die because... after the evacuation of the population (or, as many of them as possible), they decide to just cleanse the area to get rid of GP? Would also explain 'the area formerly known as Central Park'.

Then again, I don't think the tape would have survived if that was the case.. Rolling Eyes

 		Whatever kills Rob and Beth, it's obviously not strong enough to break the camera.
MGP stepping on R&B would probably destroy it along with them.

That's what makes me think it's the 'small' creatures (if any).
Even better, maybe the military shoots them be they 'know too much'. Laughing

 		They (some) make it to the chopper in the morning when its daylight, like in the clip, then the copter malfunctions sending the remaining survivors to die in a fiery crash, the camera is flung out, breaking, but the tape is intact.

 		The porblem i have with this supposed ending is that how could the tape survive. I mean IDK it could happen i guess but i am sure in reality it would get crushed and the tape would exist only to be damaged.
