[INFO] Am I the only one who has been to ...

http://enkidu.bungie.org/

I think all of ya'll should check this out.

[to be more descriptive]

I came across a link on the bungie fourms to this. It seems to outline a story involving the AI present in Halo 1, and and the end it seems to have a disclaimer of sourts related to the production of this ARG. Could this be the end??

This doesn't exactly make sense... Confused

This can't be about this ARG... anyone want to shed some light on this? I've had some fallout with the ARG community until today... wasn't there something else about Marathon this could be referring to??

well...

I mentions the old puzzles and e-mails the old bungie crew used. I think that maybe the ARG community is blowing this up a bit far. I think its mostly a throwback to the older tricks that they had played. Check this link

The Enkidu story is a piece of fan fiction that came out around the beginning of the year. (Note that it is hosted on bungie.org, which is a fan site, and not bungie.com) The Enkidu story was very well done, blending elements of Marathon (the terminal design, for instance) with the Halo universe, and an appropriate amount of mythological references thrown in to boot. Many fans were hoping these were the new Cortona Letters, and were a bit let down when the author revealed himself as just another fan.

I guess we should avoid making a similar mistake, and avoid assuming that this ARG is related to Halo until there is more solid proof. Nevertheless, it's been pretty fun so far! Smile

Its big.

Whatever it is so far, its really big. ilovebees.com is hosted on 6+ servers, and has withstood a slashdotting, not just from slashdot either, but from many major news sites. There has to be some money behind this.

Errr... 'ilovebees.com' in the Halo 2 trailer isn't proof?

Being in the Halo 2 trailer only really proves that the ARG has something to do with maybe Bungie or MS or Halo or the Ant Farm (company that made the trailer). It seems that there are many similarities that can be made between what is happening so far and the Halo story, but I wouldn't want to assume anything just yet. You never know with these sorts of things...

True, the website in the trailer is not direct evidence. However, you must see it in light of the other pieces of evidence (that, each by themselves, mean nothing of course).

The amount of 7's used in the game (there is no reason for (7*7)^7 to appear anywhere with computers unless put there... computers normally use 2^x for numbers... and it's too conincidental for it to have been a 'random' number... especially when you see .0007 and .0014 as the first two numbers of the readout that follows the mem check). It is a standing fact (that many people pointed out) that Bungie uses 7s all over the place in thier games.

The Artificial Intelligence connection. The big storyline across the Marathon/Halo games has been these rampant AIs.

The fact that it is IN A HALO 2 TRAILER. Sorry, just figure this to be the biggest connection. Saying that it is connected to Ant Farm is not likely at all. They replace www.xbox.com with ilovebees.com. This can't be something Microsoft would want to have done unless they were the ones having it done. It is also the Halo 2 trailer, which strengthens the tie-in with Bungie and allows all the bungie evidence.

FedEx tracking information seems to suggest at least one package went to the town that microsoft owns. See the thread of the packages for more (sure, a loose connection, but not insubstantial).

The group that did the Beast is supposed to have been working on a new game nicknamed the hive. Get it? Hive, bees...

The group that did the Beast are lead by Microsoft Employees. Microsoft + Bungie = Halo.

No one on Bungie/Halo forums (well, no one official) has come to say "what the hell are you babbling about! Get out of here" or the like. (Of course, it is good publicity either way, but still...)

Lastly... Who else could it be? Sure, the evidence most strongly points to Microsoft, then to Halo (and thus Bungie)... but I don't think there is really any real evidence to connect it to Ant Farm. Sure, there is something saying that maybe it is Google since, you know, Dana uses Blogger and Gmail... but there is no futher evidence. Sure, I said once that this was kinda weird if it was from Microsoft since, you know, MS and google are not on speaking terms (the entire MS wanting to break google's search engine dominance)... but blogger and gmail are strong systems. Blogger is a well setup blog site that probably can tie into gmail... and Gmail offers 1 GB of space for keeping track of the obviously huge amounts of email Dana will recieve because of the game.

That's all I have thought up so far. While I'm sure there is more evidence... I think this is a fair amount to point towards Halo, more so by far than any other possibility. Even in the beginning of the Beast, we knew it was tied to A.I. because it was on the A.I. poster. No one went and suggested that maybe it was connected to the movie company instead, or maybe the art studio that designed the poster or the manufacturer who printed it.

I don't want to upset anyone, so don't take this as a "shut up, you are wrong" kind of post... just posting the evidence as I see it.

It certainly is direct evidence that this has something to do with Halo 2, which is what Eddy was questioning. Extraneous website addresses don't find their way into theatrical trailers.

The honey samples being sent to ARG people is also direct evidence that this is an ARG.

Ergo, this is a Halo 2 ARG.

Or, it could be that The Ant Farm or Microsoft or anybody involved with the trailer production got permission from Xbox to add their URL to the end of it to promote their webgame.

I'd accept that as a possibility, were this ARG not swamped in 7's. 777, 343 (7x7x7) and various large powers of 7. Bungies personal calling card for stuff like this.

another possible explanation could be that this is Cortana letters pt2 and it's bungie's way of announcing a brand new game. a game which shares a lot of plot points with their other games.

Ok, does it really matter who's behind this? So far, from what little we've been given, it has brought all of us together. Let's not worry about who's doing it and just enjoy meeting new people and solving new puzzles. Worshippy

FWIW, I think the Hive/Beast corrolation is a coincidence, even if it happens to be the Beast team/core members.

In regards to the link to Halo2 and Bungie with all of this, the mods over at the Bungie forums were told by Bungie staff to move all threads pertaining to the whole ilovebees thing to the Halo 2 area of those forums...
