[EMAIL] Email from Dana 7-23-04 : Aunt M's empty inbox

Last night, before we discovered, from Dana, that Aunt Maragret's email account appears empty when opened, I sent this email to both of their mailboxes.

Quote:
Hello Ms. Efendi and Ms. Awbrey,
Please don't be freaked out by yet another odd email from a stranger.
I'm just another person willing to help solve the bizarre problem that
showed up on www.ilovebees.com.
As you know, an odd email was sent out from the ladybee777 account and
I'm writing tonight in an attempt to contact "The Operator". I hope
that's ok with you both and that you get some little bit of comfort in
the knowledge that so many people are trying to help. So, please
disregard the rest of this message to you; as I wonder if any key
words may trigger a response from whatever or whoever used this
account.

Operator,
You have sent out a Mayday in your distress. It has been discovered
and many are willing to help.
We have discovered and organized much of the messages you left on the
lady beekeeper's site. And have shared the email you sent.
voodoo witch? voodoo parents? Are these your enemies?
Where is the home page of the voodoo parents?
contact me
problem quite interesting
Love,
drizjr

Dana's response tonight....

interesting strategy, drizjr.
hope it works.... I checked Aunt M's inbox (I see you sent this email
to her as well), and it's still empty... so looks like
whoever/whatever grabbed your message already...

-d.

"hope it works"....hmm...doesn't seem too promising to me. But at least it's got it.

I sent a similar email asking about a bunch of stuff from the email and the story and offering to be "a firefly in the latern." Baiting, really. I'll post if I get a response.

has anybody tried givin dana useful advice for an imemdiate and thorough solution of the infestation?
in-game, the server computer is in auntie's house, and dana has rewritten the website once already. she could burn a backup CD (or have some friendly soul mirror her site, clean up the HTML code and burn the kosher version for her), format the server, meanwhile ask her ISP for a new IP, and re-setup the website. the downtime of maybe a day would not be worse for her business than the site in its current state (can't imagine they've sold a single pot of honey on it since this began), and the operator would probably lose track of the website and either turn to a different one (solving at least dana's/auntie's problem) or be stranded and unable to do any harm. that wouldn't be very friendly towards whoever it infects next, but her problem would be solved. unless the AI is now entirely on her server and gets formatted... which I find doubtful.

just a thought, it is what I would do were this not a game, and for the sake of realism, we could at least try it to see how dana reacts.
