Thanks for the heads up on this.
Just read the interview, gives a lot more insight into what Year Zero is/was and what may or not be ahead.

I think it's a great article... I didn't follow Year Zero, but heard of a bunch of the things that happened through it, and the extra videos (solve the 2 'puzzles') are wonderful! One of them is a 10 minute overview of the live limited concert and everything that happened there... that was cool.

Just in case it disappears, here is a copy of the interview.

Second & Third puzzles are encoded in the article. You have to be exact for the data entry to work.

Reznor had stepped into a new kind of interactive fiction: one where players don't just passively consume the story.

I guess I'd file this under the law of unintended consequences (My post... My bucket).

But, I found that my wont was to go straight after the puzzly stuff. I then realized that I'd gone through the whole main article without actually reading it and had to consciously go back to do that.

There is an 11-page transcript of Frank Rose's interview with Reznor, yet the audio of the interview cuts off well before the end. After that cut-off, the transcript has a few instances where words are substituted with what appear to be time signatures of some sort (perhaps the elapsed interview time?).

For example: "I'm singing about [78:44] but that lent itself to that medium." and "if there wasn't a real third party it had its own set of problems that they run into and they have a real person in there [86:42] We kept that very nebulous, but that person also fed some graphic artists things that became these murals that popped up."

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this might be? Another of the article's puzzles, maybe? It seems "coincidental" that these numbers appear after the audio cuts off and one can't check what the words are.
