Toho could easily give it to him for free or for a low price because they hate the thing and want to make him popular. As for the producer guy (NOT JJ ABRAMS) saying it was completely original, probably because he doesnt know what zilla is or looks like and they never name him in the movie.

SO they give away rights to a monster they hate so someone else can make him popular and make millions off of it? Screwy

A producer buys the rights, for actual money, but never gets to see an image of the monster he purchased rights too? Screwy

The leaps in logic here arre superman-esque (to keep with the comic theme)

Omg, if JJ abrams buys the rights he of course knows what hes buying. Who told u hed never see and image of it. This is how I think it went...

JJ abrams wants to make a monster movie. he studies them and falls in love with zilla. He goes to Toho wanting to make a new movie. They want zilla to be famous. SO they give him the rights to make the movie. And of course they get paid for his success.

C'mon now, you can't prove its not the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man either. It's been made pretty clear that the monster is original, you're interpretation of the meaning of the word original aside, this would preclude Zilla, Cthulu, Godzilla, Superman, Jesus, Mr. Stay Puft, a 50-foot woman, etc etc.

HHhahahaha, how do you know its original? Because the BB producer guy(not jj abrams) said it was original? They never name the monster, and he probobly doesnt know what zilla is. So yea. its either zilla or an original monster
