I sent Micheal an essay today. Hopefully he responds soon. It was a lot of information to swallow but I kind of feel like he owes me now.

Good grief! Sorry.

There are so many freakin' rules in this forum. It takes the fun out of everything. But indeed, there must be rules or there will be chaos. Again, sorry.

No I am sorry. That was totally not meant for you at all. I just posted it because I thought it was funny. I had initially responded to their post with a ridiculous post of mine own and then I started researching them a bit and came across that post from kona. So again, I should apologize to you because it was not aimed in anyway at you.

I fooled around with a bunch of different codes using various combos of deuteronomy 59, iniquity, and the entire verse itself as the key. I got excited for a moment when one of them seemed like it was spelling out 'my pun, your answer'... though with some letters changed, but I couldn't do anything with it.

So... nada. *Sigh*

I tried similar stuff even recreating the key codes with brute force and trying the code forward and backward.

What got you the "my pun your answer" part ??? maybe it will spark something for us

I haven't a clue anymore, I'm sorry. I just tried to go through all of them again on the site I was using (http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/vigenere-autokey.php), but can't find it again for the life of me. Dunno

I was probably doing something strange with one of them with the alphabet backward and keyword reversed or something. And now I've learned to always note what it was if I'm going to bring it up, even if I thought it was useless. Razz

Not backwards [the codes], and you cannot decode them all the same way.

Hmm, I wonder if that means there's a different key for each code or if there's a different cipher for each code.

Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, CM did confirm that it is indeed "INIQUITY" spray painted on Rembrandt's "The Prodigal Son."

Happy Holidays ya bunch o' fruitcakes & nuts!

Here's CM's reply to me when I asked, "Is Eric our proverbial 'Prodigal Son?'"

CM:

In some ways.

I'm out-of-state (well, my state) 'til the New Year, so haven't had a lot of time to be of much help on the code. If it's still unsolved, I'll put in what I can, too, when I get back!

Thanks to those of you that left those really nice holiday wishes.

Sad to say I think everyone has given this game a holiday break. I just hope its not permanent.

It seems that on these codes, one of us gets hot and we go on a roll figuring out one set or session and then the PMs slack off and we go cold not having those juices flowing.

Doh!well .....
