Good eyes, and yeah, it's pretty hard to argue that this is legit when the logo isn't of the standard shape and style.

It's also hard to argue that this is legit when it looks like the style guide for a Cloverfield commercial campaign run by Target.

Still awesome desktop wallpaper, tho. Very Happy

I thought it looked like it could be an iPod commercial.

Just add some white earbuds to the monster. See what I mean?

one question is though... Why does that monster seem to fit almost EVERYTHING we know though?

Hell, it even fits with the "flyby" in the trailer, white part on the back of its head = the "shell" people looked for? little arms = feet people thought belonged to Isopods?

I have a full-size Cloverfield poster sitting on the wall next to my computer so I can compare the letters very closely.
Definitely has slight differences that might be missed by someone making fan art.

As stated above, some of the letters in the poster art have beveled edges that are not in the OP...

Here are the exact differences:
The bottom-left of the 'L's have bevels in the poster
The 'V' has a wierd notch in the poster
The top and bottom-right parts of the 'E's have bevels in the poster
The bottom-right of the 'R' has an odd bevel in the poster

Because whoever did this not only did their research, but did a damn good job of drawing it. That's one of the things I pointed out in my first analysis of it, it's TOO perfect. There's no way we could have been correct on every single point of spec.

I don't want to weigh too heavily with my opinion, because I don't know jack, really. Smile But like others are saying, if it's a fake, it's a very well-considered one that factors in everything we know, everything we've seen and everything we've heard rumors about. When I first saw the image, my gut told me it was real because it seemed to reflect the quick glimpse in the trailer. But if you were making a fake image, wouldn't you try to reflect upon that? Smile Nobody would buy a fake if, say, it looked like a giant bee. (Or would we??!)

I'm not ruling it out yet.

Who's to say that the people in charge of designing this marketing guide had the original files? I know that doesn't make much sense, but It seems like you guys are kinda grasping.

Confused

Isnt real MGP going to be "Perfect" according to everything he does in the movie? or is he not allowed because we all say so. Razz

By perfect, I meant the drawing includes damn near every theory and speculation that exists regarding the monster. It's like a super conglomerate of all our ideas.

Maybe that's what is influenced by our involvement in this ARG... our theories make the monster...

That is what I had always assumed... like the never finalized the monster until seeing what the people wanted in a monster.

still, at this point the "Style guide" can probably be called OOG, but... the monster is impossible to claim IG or OOG until further proof is given.
