On Dana's blog, aubsy points out that the following message may be revealed:

Seek the truth
Behold the truth
Reveal the truth
That is the law and the whole of the law

This may be a reference to the three tools.

Seek = grope = staff
Behold = network = lantern
Reveal = surgical = knife

Huck, doesn't it make more sense for the staff to be "behold" and the lantern to be "seek"? I know you made the match because of the order, but I somehow see it the other way. I don't know if it means something or helps in any way, tho.

I appologize, but I did not mean to attack you in any way. I only mean that nothing should be assumed.

Wouldn't you agree?

Heh, I agree to a point. But we've had this discussion here before. As far as I'm concerned, rehashing it is useless, but the point is that this place should be safe for people to play without fear of interference. If you suspect everyone, the only likely solution is to make your own board somewhere that you know you can control. Very Happy

And that's about all I have to say about that.

Ummm...

My point is that nothing can be taken at face value, and it should be assumed that anything that cannot be verified by fact should be considered as part of the game. Even the profiles of long-standing members of forums that are known to be linked to similar situations in the past, a rather small feat of database manipulation I might add, should be suspect. Not that it isn't fun playing, just that nothing should be easily dismissed as a potential clue.

I realize you're just playing, but part of the whole 'collective detective' thing is trusting your fellow detectives. If one of them tells you a thing, you must assume it is so -- especially about something like this.

Unless, of course, you're simply a paranoid schizophrenic, in which case fire away, amigo!

AkumA, your skepticism is admirable, and your perception of the situation is understandable, but it might be useful to check out the Terms Of Service for this forum one more time (and that goes for everyone who's not on familiar terms with it at the present).

I'm pretty darn (read: absolutely) sure xnbomb's not in with the PMs - it's become fairly acceptable and standard to use player speculation and interaction to enhance the immersion aspect of a game. xnbomb was indeed a bit of an influence on Project MU, yep yep.

Smile

Game on!
