you stole them all? I'd at least put one of'em back. lol, I mean other than the constant flow of commercials, the trailers in just about every anticipated movie, the viral campaign that's slowly taking over the internet- how are people gonna know about Cloverfield?

...yeah, it looks like the street teams are out in NYC.
I found this Friday night on the corner of Houston and Greene, a couple of blocks away from Angelica.
...and the official posters are up in those "InSite" locations that you see in bars & restaurants.

Is flyposting legal in NYC? If those were flyposted, don't exactly call it 'stealing', because if it is illegal you were 'cleaning up a public defacement'. If it is in fact illegal to have posted them where you got them, call it snagging them or some other less illicit sounding thing.
Oh, and you can bet I'll be checking if flyposting is clearly illegal in cities near me.
As for the official posters placed in public places legally, or even the 'flyposters' placed in locations with consent or permission - leave them alone. Remember, if you are a true fan of this movie you do want people to see some of those posters. It's reasonable to expect that illegal flyposters will be destroyed and removed before too long, but those placed with any sense of legality being taken by you would make you the vandal and thief.

I live close to NYC and can vouch for the fact that there's extensive street promotion taking place all over the city. Stealing four promotional posters out of thousands isn't "ruining" anything. Are we gonna get all self righteous now and pretend that we wouldn't (or in some cases haven't) done the same thing? They're collector's items. Why would any fan get pissy over the guy taking four posters? I have two myself. OMG I'm the cause for the movie tanking at the theaters!

I mean seriously. If you guys wanted to play police a better time would've been when the myspace and photobucket was hacked.

Listen, try going and re-reading my post jerkoffs.
If you look carefully, you'll notice I didn't say 'bad you', but in fact said that nooneimportant77's self-labeling of 'stealing' may have been the wrong way to put it. My concern is that people not do something unethical in the name of 'fan fun'. I don't care if you don't like me trying to stand up for doing what's ethical - if more people would, there'd be less problems in this world.
Oh, and I DID speak out against the trashing of the Photobucket accounts and people tinkering within the MySpace account.
I'm not trying to 'play police', seeing as I'm not saying I'm going to turn anyone in or punish them. I am pleading that people not go be total idiots and jerks and screw things up for others.

very cool. And don't worry folks these things are going to be littering the streets of NYC pretty soon. There will be plenty to go around I'm sure. Him taking a few of them is no biggy.
