[META: TO ALL PLAYERS] Reducing Threads & Posts

I may be way out of line here, in which case please feel free to disagree with me and/or lock this topic. It is becoming very hard to follow the board due to the explosion of information. Knowing that every bit of speculation, every link, every finding may turn out to be crucial at a later point, I understand that nobody should ever be discouraged from posting... well... pretty much anything. However, the sheer amount of new threads (not to mention new posts) makes it excruciatingly painful to sift through all of this stuff. I find it even more painful to have to read the same idea by five different people in five different places... it's just way too much clutter. And this is while we only have 2 websites and 1 character to speak of! I think this is somewhat of a vicious circle - as new people are coming in, they find it difficult/next to impossible to read through all the posts (or maybe even thread names), so they just go ahead and say what they have to say, in some cases making a separate thread for it - which, naturally, clutters the boards that little bit more. Can we please implement stricter moderation policies that would:

1. keep the number of threads to a minimum (i.e. if you want to spec about Cortana being the Operator, please find one of the existing threads where you spec would be appropriate instead of creating a new thread just because your spec is brand new/different from what has been said before)

2. keep threads strictly on topic (this will help people locate information more efficiently, as well address the clutter issue. If you want to spec about xnbomb being a character, please do it in the Dana's blog thread (since effectively that's what you're addressing - her blog) instead of in whatever-thread-you-are-in at the time that you have this brilliant idea).

3. search before you post! (self-explanatory)

I hate having to create a new thread for this, but, remembering that we had the same issue in MU, I feel it may be worthwhile for people to express their opinions on this matter in a place dedicated to it.
