[SPEC] Is the monster pregnant? Hey, been lurking here for months, but just finally created an account. I'm a UK fan, it's not fair that we have to wait until Feb to see this thing.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but I noticed nearly everybody referes to this monster as male. What's to say it isn't female?
From the moment I saw the clip of the monster in the trailer stepping between buildings, the thing on it's back that I call 'the shell' could it actually be carrying babies? Could this be where the 'other' monsters come from? If so, that could most likley mean there is another kind of male monster hinding out in the ocean.
Perhaps this is one angry momma of a monster or maybe I'm wrong and it's just her 'time of the month', hence the reason for the destruction of New York.

I'd rather it be a sexless engine of destruction.
No lovin' round these parts.

The monster seems to me to be parasitic rather than reproductive, because of the Slusho! history section, but it's a possibility.

Your Mom is asexual.
Also, entirely possible the monster is female. I suppose we refer to it as 'he' because of the sexist nature of the English language. The parasites could be 'shed' or 'laid' from the female monster. Although, you know, if it's female and preggers, there's gotta be a daddy somewhere...

Still doesn't prove it would be a female.
A male seahorse is the one that carries the offspring.

actually, I was wrong. It's possible that the monster transmits eggs through biting, then the eggs hatch inside a human host - Alien-style.

Lets not even bring that movie into this debate. It was absolutely terrible. The only way that movie could hve redeemed itself in my mind is if Matthew Broderick would have started doing the twist on a parade float. And probably not even then.

There are worse things in the world than Alien. I like AVP.
