I think I'd rather easy and over abundant then boring and scarce sometimes....

This was the only annoying thing about it with me. Just because that Ethan Haas nonsense was discovered at the same time this was considered a game. And people still cling to it.
To the point of obsession.

From what I gather this marketing campaign (let's call it what it is) has little in common with actual ARGs. It would also seem that the people here don't really represent these forums as a whole, at least based upon the browsing I have done around the site. Cloverfield sucks for an ARG, from what I can tell the Year Zero ARG blew it away. There are some rants about Cloverfield's suckiness around the forums.

So it gets relatively quiet for a few days and people go straight into bitch mode.
Fantastic.

You've been here for 13 days, now try to imagine this for 3 months....Not trying to question your representation, one for all and all for one, but the agenda they have is frustrating. Almost feel used to help gain publicity. They got all of our attentions during the summer, made it seem real, and then when it came too near, to what we were all working for, NADA...All this work, and some 12 year old who's been here for 3 months had better ideas, could have done a better job.
Start Something ----> Finish It

The Dark Knight ARG is unbelievable. Not to say I haven't been following this intensely since day one, just been looking over what I've missed, ie. my opportunity cost, and TDK game is costly...

Overly interactive, like the real NYC scavenger hunt and personal call backs that have been taking place...Just makes me wonder how good this ARG could have been if they would have put in the effort.
holy hell! I wish this was an ARG or they would get with the program already.. That looks so fun!!!

Thank you... i was just about to post this...
Its much less of a game then it is marketing. Guess what? IT'S DOING ITS JOB!
How many people know about Cloverfield because of the trailers and such?
Probably going to be the biggest opening for a January movie in history
*EDIT* I just looked... Cloverfield has to beat Titanic for that honor...
*EDIT 2* Although... one thing this movie may do is... Highest income vs cost to make it.

honestly tho... they need to do something with the TV trailers because if I was someone that never saw Transformers, Beowulf, or any other teaser (I never saw it in theaters)I would SO not be into going to see the movie just because of the trailer. I only found out about this whole thing because it was on the front page of yahoo because lots of people were searching for "1-18-08" and "JJ, Abrams movie" the day after Transformers came out. I think that the marketing sucks for people that aren't into the internet and such...

Erm... thats the ENTIRE reason I started looking into this is because the trailer made me want to see it. From the first time i saw Transformers I knew this was a movie I had to see.

No.. that's not what I mean... I mean if I saw it on TV right now, with no backstory or anything, I'd be like... eh... I wouldn't be calling my friends like OMG we have to go see Cloverfield...

Agreed, examples being everyone I have spoken to about it, that didn't see any trailers in the theaters. They think its cool, but don't really seem too stoked about it.
