I love how he treats it as if it is alive, and how it could respond to the manager's yelling.

Well that didn't work out quite the way I planned.
I'll answer myself:

That's super kind. When I had broadband I would do the same for anyone else.
I live in an area where there is no broadband. Places like that still exist.

Up until early this year My PC ran on dialup and had a 5GB hard drive.
I could never go back.

The amazing thing to me is that this reference is from 11/9/1996, well before the appearance in Alias on 10/7/2001. Nickelodeon could claim the name if they really wanted to, I suppose.
Oh, and all this talk of small slow systems and such...
Although I left dial up behind 3 years ago, at my left knee is my first computer I ever owned, an AMD K6 166 mhz on a Soyo AT motherboard with 1.1 gb and 4.3 gb HDs running Windows 95. It still works and I've used it to surf quite recently. I built it in late 98 to early 99 and installed Windows only 3 times - first I tinkered it to death in the first 2 months, then ran it until last year on that one install. I installed Avast and it POed the system to where I had to reinstall. I also have a couple of 150 mhz Cyrix systems with HDs under 1 gb, and a couple of 486s. Those don't go on the internet as yet.

ZOMG Cyrix! Haven't seen those in ages I live somewhere very warm... none of my Cyrix processors lived long compared to their intel/amd cousins (course the amd's weren't as tollerant thermally then either if I recall.

soo, pardon bringing this back up...but if bill clinton is drinking slush-o back in '96, that would give more credit to the sumo penis theory...
