Whether this is the tanker or not, can we assume MGP is gonna attack NYC in the near future?

Someone mentioned before that he/she/the tanker could be going to NYC. Maybe this is the whistle blower's warning or whatever to us. Remember what we witness on 1-18-08 isnt occuring in real time. Maybe its about to happen.

I think it's real time... I mean, if it's 'about to happen' then so much for the 'game' right? I mean, what's the point in sending anything else? The way I see it is, if the game continues all the way up until the 17th, then it's "real time." I mean Itsumo has asked ALOT of questions that we're all still wondering, so it leaves plenty of room for those questions to be answered between now and then.

And also, look at the date this was taken- [12.18.07] So, this has been taken some time ago. In fact, it was taken the when the Whistleblower sent us the second memo.

Also if the sonar is underwater, than the coordinates could be in relation to the sonar itself.

anyone know how to read XMP? theres a few websites in this "Metadata" of the pic, each leads to some form of info on XMP

Just from my background in Oceanography/Ocean Engineering:

My guess on the boat symbol being to the left instead of centered is because this is probably a side-towed array rather than a rear-towed array (ie it's towed from the davit on the side of the ship rather than an A-frame at the back, this tends to be fairly common). I'm actually of the belief that this is an ROV and not a towed array, check out the seabotix.com link a little further down.

As far as the coordinates, those are probably in relation to the surface ship that is supporting it. They are used along with the gps coordinates of the surface ship to determine the exact position of ROV/Array. Without the surface ships coordinates they are pretty much useless.

This is from what's called a scanning sonar, which works a lot like radar does. For a little quicktime movie of how it works, check out this guy that I've used:

My interpretation of the image is that MGP is either growing or rising out of the depression (the depression being the dark blue, check out the scale in the lower left). Also notice that the red from MGP is actually off the scale in the lower left, so he's not only long but he's tall as well.

Edit: And by lower left corner i actually meant lower right...
