I just read all 9 pages of this thread. In the lower right of images ( for example: http://bp3.blogger.com/_YPCf8JFgUdI/R3XdSKPwlPI/AAAAAAAACCI/Y-_bYEf13ac/s1600-h/sonar_01.jpg ) there are two symbols.

The farthest one down in the corner looks like a microphone / thermometer.
The one on the left looks Kanji-esque, Plus-sign on top of square-with-a-dot on top of something-I can't describe.

 		[SPEC] The Event on 12-18
If I recall, the TIDO Wave "Event" was supposed to occur on the same day this Sonar image was recorded.

It's hard to see how their their event could involve Chuai station itself, but ALF terrorists have been known to worm their way into research centers in an attempt to disrupt them without reguard for the consequences. Perhaps they snuck abord the station and unwittingly (or knowingly) unleashed MGP?

Well, I do remember them saying that it would take place the weekend of the 14th. So that would be the 14th - 16th. I'm suspecting that Tagruato had their hand in "Randy and company's" disappearance, not MGP. but that's just my spec.

Well whoever made this img flattened the layers...of corse, so i couldnt do much in that regard but i did manage to play with the color and levels to highlight the important areas of the img or the most colored (i th ink that means deepest or something) whatever it means...here you go if it helps good.

 		After looking at the images, reading up on it, my take is that we have MGP looking straight UP at the source of the sonar and we are look at it's upturned head, the plates/dome on the top of the humanoid head is that big lump on the back of the MGP we see in the clip as it walks towards the skyscraper and knocks it down. We don't see the rest of the limbs and body because it's so HUGE and it may be swimming UP, with the limbs tucked underneath it and swimming like a crocodile would.

 		That sonar image would suggest that MGP is over 1000 ft tall (at least).

I just don't think the creature is that frickin big.
It wouldn't be able to hide behind buildings because it would tower above them..you could see it no matter where you were.

 		can anyone translate the tabs at the top of the sonar window. It might lead to what exactly is being scanned by the sonar..

1000' does seem a little tall, but maybe not by too much. That'd still be significantly shorter than the Empire State Building, but indeed, taller than pretty much every other building in NYC. Smile As a roundabout number, though, 1000' doesn't sound terribly far off.

That's about 80 stories, give or take. Fully out-stretched and swimming up from the depths would give it longer form, instead of that awkward frog-leg stance it walks with to support it's massive size. Compared to the skyscraper it knocked over, yeah, I can see it being that tall.

How about he's 1000' or 1000m long? That would make a lot more sense? The color coding is the height scale?

 		Notice the location of the Chuai Station compared to the map. It appears to align with the 22/23 grid on the map. That seems like it correlates to one of the two locations (22.352) we have from the sonar image. Looks like it is the Chuai Station. I just wish I could figure in the other coordinate to know for sure.

 		Maybe it's a result of the TIDO event. Could be a spill you are looking at (the straight line could be the spill against a solid object). May not even be oil, could be SBN you are looking at. And perhaps such a spill is what rouses the creature.

I doubt the creature is caught on any radar/sonar etc, from a side view, that doesn't make much sense. The signature would be as from above, and would look quite different.
