I received mine as a response to an email sent about the Slusho distribution opportunities on October 12th.

automatic? They replied with it to an email I sent them a month and a half ago. And I responded...so if it were automatic, wouldn't I have just gotten another one?

I ,too sent them a message yesterday, and have heard nothing back. What subject matter did you write to them about?

I asked:

I'm wondering if I can get more information on the Chuai Station?

Thats it. 12:38 AM.

I wrote the same thing yesterday. Nothing has arrived yet.
That reminds me, gotta check my inbox

I made a shot in the dark about some connection to another ARG, 48 Hours in Purgatory. About "trauma makes monsters" and "winter through a straw" - which is a reference to Slusho...or so we think.

*Not an attempt to game jack...simply responding honestly to a question.

Well... think backwards. What would Paramount assume us to initially think that the sonar image was? MGP. I don't think they're trying to make it difficult for us. This an anomaly that we can safely assume to be something (MGP) that was captured on sonar by Tagruato, possibly at a drilling station, possibly at Chuai. Possibly some outside source obtained the sonar image, but we know Tagruato obtained the picture, and we know someone from Tagruato sent us it.

Question is, who sent it and why? I assume it to be the Whistle Blower, since we haven't heard anything from him in a while.

So my conclusion;

1. Picture is MGP
2. Whistle Blower sent us the picture without signing it or writing any little messages. Cryptic and odd deviation from normal procedure, but yeah.

rather than looking at the image in too much detail (which it possibly wasn't meant to be looked at in, we know in hindsight that months spent staring at indistinct shapes doesn't normally reveal anything), looking at it at the normal zoom, doesn't it (as discussed) look like 2 distinct shapes both pointing diagonally, the lower of the two maybe a ship or oil tanker (as also discussed)? and the upper being the monster, to give everyone a sneek size comparison?

I am still not clear about the color indications:
Light green is closest ?
Blue is deepest ?
Any other color is closer (red, purple, etc...)?
If this is true, then MGP is rising out of a mine shaft or drilling
hole or excavation site in the ocean floor?
Too many pages to read through, thanks.

I've made a quick anim to show how the image might have been made:

Circular gradient
Monster screened on top (I used a crab)
Noise+motion blur overlayed.
Rainbow Gradient Map for the colours. Purple brightest, Red darkest.
Monster faded in and out.

Edit: Similar thing done with my extracted image:

That's the "Fruity Oaty Bar" octopus.

Time to fire up the GIMP and get my poor etching skills up and running.

EDIT: Came up with this. I reckon MGP was caught having a break from his job at the station and they took away his cigarette rations.

He then went off to NYC to pick up a packet, met the SOL, asked for a light and then after being ignored took a maddie.

Has it been suggested that the colour differences could be down to heat?

Blue as the coldest, red and yellow as the warmest?

sonar is only in one color, so i don not think this is something underwater. If it is i looks to be some sort of oil deposit underground or something. that still does not explain the multiple colors.

It also says Son-air at the top, could this be at an air force base, or maybe a radar image instead of a sonar.

Maybe the object is not what is meant to found, there might be some other clue somewhere else.

It is a single colour, just stuck through a colour gradient, see these pics here:

Is it possible to turn the sonar images into something 3D from a differnt angle or side view kinda like this?

Theoretically yes, but need someone with the tools.

Need to map the spectrum Blue for lowest, green for mid, and red for highest in a 3d setting. A voxel graphics engine could do it but the trick is getting it to read the color channels as the height inputs (the only one's I have read greyscale).
