I think kraker hit the nail on the head then, when he said it doesnt matter, I mean I dont think its going to be alien in origin (been done to oblivion) and JJ likes to be original, so I'm still in the extremophile camp on this, but I suppose there is the little mattewr of sending the extremophiles into space for research, and tagruato launching the satellite that adds some credence to your theory, but taking into account the size of MGP he's got a hell of a sized ship to land! still think this is going to be a great movie though!

Well I didn't feel Natas was being condescending. I laughed when I read his original post. I even put a smiley face agreeing with Kraker's points. I think his edits were a bit confrontational but they don't bother me either. I should have edited or worded it differently to say I didn't believe it was a USO of the ship variety. But yeah Natas..it's a USO for at least some duration of its existance. Um...sorry?

Hell yeah humanity has found a predator
ps:LOL guys why did you name it grumpypants ?(sorry i'm new here)
Well, because its fairly obvious he's in a pretty grumpy mood, with the smashing of buildings and the stomping of stuff.. so Mr. Happyface just didn't seem apropriate..
Apparently he's something of a (water)bear before his morning Slusho.
Seriously tho, someone called him that in a post and it stuck.

I think there's an implied ending to the forum's top rule that nobody seems to be getting. It's like the implied "you" in the ubiquitous "f* you" that so many don't understand. So, what I really read is (implied in italics):
Play Nice or STFU .
Maybe it's just me.

This last page has restored my faith in humanity.
And here I thought we were all going to kill each other, eventually.

0_0 Trolls and their stinky trouts these days....
MGP is not an alien. Just way to un-original. Sooo many things have been regarding this, and discussing whether or not MGP is an alien has been done before. Type in "Alien" and "Cloverfield" and you have a thread.
(MGP is getting childish. I mean, Mister GrumpyPants? Here's his classified name: Malicious Gigantus Preadator from the sea #3.(first one was jaws and Godzilla)).

Instead of making a new topic, i'm posting here. I just seen Cloverfield mentioned on Reelz channel on the show Dailies.
The host mentioned Cloverfield and JJ Abrams directed Star Trek as movies of 2008.
The thing that confused me is he mentioned the movie as an "alien invasion" i'm assuming he got it totally wrong. or does he know something we don't?
Was he really talking about Star Trek? Discuss

MGP is not an alien.
If it turns out you are correct, right on for you. However, you speak with such certainty when not one of us can be certain about jack shit in regards to this.
Everything has been done to death, whether it be an undiscovered species, alien, or even mutant or man made monsters.
Not to say that JJ Abrams has not been fairly original in the invention of super heroes... Oh wait.

JJ meant illegal alien. When MGP gets his driver's license then he'll be just another city-stompin, slusho-slurpin', sky-scrapin', cryo-crustacean!
