obviously we know its a monster movie lol, but its saying it unravels the mystery... maybe there will be more pictures, info.... possible pic of MGP? who knows... i dont have a scanner, so anyone else in the UK will have to oblige if so.

It's unlikely they are going to have any new information Sad The lead time for a magazine like that is at least a month, or so.

It's been a long time since they finished shooting, no reason for them not to have info that hasn't been revealed yet. It'll probably get leaked before the magazine comes out though...

The monster is a goofy looking 6'8" rich saudi with an unkempt beard.

Makes sense now.

Man.. you people put too much thought into this stuff. It's a monster flick. Buildings falling is scary, that's the purpose. If you wanted to make a politcal statement about the Middle East, you wouldn't need to do so in a such a convulated manner. If he really wanted to make a statement he could *gasp*.. make a documentary instead?

Why does there have to be a deeper meaning behind everything? Everyone tried to convince Tolkien he was writing about the war in his book, even though he repeatedly said it was just a fantasy novel, nothing more. JJ said he saw monsters in Japan, and thought "hey, I wanna do a monster movie, and have an American monster!" But because everyone apparently has to have an agenda, media proclaims it's a 9/11 movie, and everyone buys it.

Like smoke-monsters people think they see, movies are often blown out of proportion in just the same way.

I think it goes back to the post WW2 era when all the Japanese monster flicks were made to teach the lesson of the big bad monster (usa) coming from the sea/sky to destroy Japan (like Hiroshima) with radioactive fire and brimstone to teach the history lesson another way. This was also true of American monster movies that depicted the Monster as communism (Invasion of the body snatchers etc) that quietly and quickly infiltrates our lives and takes over to make you a zombie.. But as usual, Democracy wins out over communism ... except in this movie where it looks like the monster might win.. round 1 anyway..

I believe you are correct. Smile

The new issue of Wizard (the comics magazine) has a one page article about Cloverfield. If you all haven't seen it, I can type it out later (if I finish today's pull list of comics)!
