Wow This is a good post. I really think that No. 11 from the first link is probably similar to GP. I mean, even its shape makes sense with the glimpse we saw from the trailer. Very cool. I'd love it if it were that monster.

not of fan of the pissed off turlte... they're not diabolical enough. I need something fierce. Could care less about it being of just reptillian origin. I mean, I definitely don't want something furry running around, which I think we can all see it won't be. I want a mixture of creatures. Amphibian/reptillian/Crustacean/Mollusk/Cetacean
I mean, I want this thing to be ancient. To be the beginning of so many other creatures. To have all their positives and none of their negatives.

9 of 26! 9 of 26 in the 2d section is an underwater creature whom releases smaller extremophile looking organisms from its mouth. If I had to choose which would resemble the cloverfield monster...I choose 9 of 26, most definitely. The image is also just really bad ass with the glowing stomach, this dude is nothing to be messed with.
PS, the orange extremophile has 6 eyes! lol

I am extremely happy that Konig is doing the monster....if he is.
I adore his styles, and he's also a really nice guy who will most likely wim into whatever JJ wants the monster to look like. We can expect something both scary and spectacular from Konig.

I gotta agree with you on that one. I'll wager that the Mr. Grumpypants isn't in his web gallery, but of all the stuff there, that one struck me as being most like what's in the trailers so far structurally (spikes and such).
So many cool beasts he designs, I'm excited to see what he's come up with for this movie!

I hope it's more like 8 personally, but 9 is a close second.
I hope it's not like number 10 or that Smellybug-22 though.

number 8 is... interesting to say the least. Would definitely be ironic. We're so worried about how the creature's gonna look, what kind of face it has- then when we see it, it doesn't even have a head. lol.

This guy's work is amazing! I was thinking the same thing about #8, with the smaller things coming out of the mouth, but as was stated many times before, there is, more than likely, no actual art of MGP on the site, but could be a mixture of a few of those. In any case, game over, New York, game over....

I'd really have to say that 14/16 on the smellybug site is what I imagine would be possible for the monster.

I'll be watching his website closely over the next few weeks. Maybe the first official release of a CF monster image will be in his gallery.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't do a whole spread on the development of it when the lawyers let him I imagine he'll have something to be quite proud of.

I'd say the big spread will come after the movie release. I'm looking for something more like just one new image, randomly thrown in there with no title.
I'm hoping the payoff for following this whole marketing thing will be an early look at the monster, if only a week or even a few days early. But I don't think they'll just stick it on the front page of USA Today on 01-10-08. I think we'll have to find it.
