Who needs more movies when they could do a bad holiday show? I can imagine it now...

Would that be 6 fairies in a cricket cage? Just asking...
I think a prequel would be good, if they did it right...

It could be in the POV of a soldier with a high tech helmet with a camera in it and it could switch to infared and night vision. that whould be awesome.

A Sequel to Cloverfield is about the worst thing i've evr heard of. My admiration for J.J. would be gone if he made a sequel to Cloverfield.

I'm sure he'll lose sleep over that...

Of course: we have to be original, be 3x better than Toho, and get a 6 reference in all in one shot =)

the way I see it- if they make a sequel and so on, it'll be by a different director/producer.
As far as the issue of whether or not it'll be handheld or not... I feel that if they strip this movie of one of its biggest aspects, it'll do poorly. I mean, yeah- I know "The Blair Witch Project" was bad, the the sequel was even worse- why: because the stripped "Blair Witch" of one of its biggest aspects; POV perspective.
Exactly! And on the Blair Witch Project DVD (original) there was a mocumentary about the researches, what was the matter with the whole student camera team disappeared in the forest, with interviews with police officers, parents and relatives of the students, historians and occultism experts etc. And that mocumentary rocked! So I hope, JJ Abrams will do a parallel mocumentary project.

Wow, it would be cool. I think, JJ Abrams should collaborate with Tim Burton in that case. Gothic X-mas story about a lonely monster looking for friends. Dubbed by Johnny Depp as a Monster.
