The Missing Pieces are mobisodes that are more or less very short scenes released on Verizon cell phones, and about a week later released as webisodes on ABC.com. They are scenes that take place within what we've seen of Seasons 1- 3, and are considered to be canon. I doubt they're connected to this in any way more than the regular episodes are.
LostPedia has alot of good information on them and is allready following Fly Oceanic closely.

Okay, i'll try to explain to the best of my ability. However, reading Lostpedia is probably the best way to gain a full understanding of all the events of The Lost Experience (part 1). Wikipedia just doesn't do it justice.

The Lost Experience was an ARG that expanded on the storyline of Lost. It began with a hacker called Persephone who gave clues about the Hanso Foundation and whether or not it helped the human race as it claimed. Hanso Foundation commercials started appearing on television, and multiple websites were found. Stage two began with Persephone hacking the Hanso Foundations website, and the site being shut down. In this stage, we learned that the hackers true name was Rachel Blake. Stage three is where things got interesting. It started at the San Diego Comic Con. Stage three was when players were instructed to piece together a video that Rachel shot in Sri Lanka.

To make a long story short (all of which can be read at lostpedia, at the link above) we learned of the origins and purpose of the DHARMA Initiative, the Valenzetti Equation, and the Island. The Numbers are the constants of the Equation which tells of when humanity will die off. DHARMA was started to find out a way to change the constants of the Equation and to save humanity. The island is a research labatory where DHARMA do their experiments.

"Speaker" is a player in this game. Basically, he's an observer who gives hints and records the events of whats happening in the ARG.

I hope it doesn't turn out like the online game for "The Office", with the screenwriters strike still going on. I wonder how many episodes they have in their vault. The Office has been nothing but re-runs because of it but the online game has gone on - but alot of people have lost interest. There is no end in site for the strike according to the news.

Eight. That means we've patiently waited almost a year for only eight weeks of lost... Crying or Very sad I understand why they need to be on strike though. I just wish they'd settle it...

 		Dont know if this has been noted before, but I just heard from a friend that they spotted an Oceanic Air billboard proclaiming new direct flights from Portland to Seoul and directing you to the flyoceanicair.com website. Havent seen it to confirm yet, but there you go!

Even if this was just "thrown together" at the last minute to give us something to do during the strike, it's LOST. The Pilot episode was made from idea to filmed in 3 months. For a new show, for anything of that calibur, if anyone can throw something together quick and guarentee it'll be good, it's the LOST creative team.

Yeah, that's been happening to me all day too. It seems like if I close the window and reopen the site it works again...

It seems like a kind of glichy site... but I'm trying not to complain. I think I'm just crabby from being so impatient all day. Haha.
