Look to the left of the Cloverfield billboard. This could possibly be a new clue to confirm the monster is in fact, a lion. A lion king, to be exact.

Watching Dick Clark's show tonight, you could see the Billboard roughly 7,000,000 times.

Saw the billboard during New Year's celebration on NBC. They actually pointed the camera right at it and lingered for several seconds.

Yes, it was mildly entertaining how they pointed at it for about 7 seconds, slowly zooming in, then cut to a commercial break containing a teaser.

Makes me wonder if the budget for advertising and distribution is bigger than the filming budget.

Well being a Viacom property Viacom has a vested interest in the film to a certain degree. It's actually not that difficult or overly costly to plaster in this case Cloverfield advertising in outlets and spaces they already own.
Billboards, tv ads on their air, other signage etc..

Like I've said before, it really would not surprise me if Paramount upped the financing for the movie once they saw how huge it became.

i wonder... With the ad layout the way it is in the picture, "Some Thing Has Found Us" and the text design and shadowing, it almost appears to me that it is a movie about an alien(s). If I was ignorant to everything going on online with the backstory and everything else and just some average joe consumer guy, id think "Hmm a new alien movie"
is it just me?

I dunno. Maybe they really wanted to name the movie "Found" which kinda played off "Lost" and figured "well let's just sneak it in here.."
