I doubt it was someone coming to get her, they wouldn't just open the door slightly, close it leave.

so it was probably just someone on set that opened the door, but they probably would have re shot it if that happened?

but it also happened as soon as she sat down, it could have been caused by that, but it's highly unlikely.

I mentioned this in an earlier post about the door movement. I would most likely dismiss it as an off-stage error or random background noise and poor video quality (someone said she dropped her beer at that point, but she didn't take a drink until after the "thump").

However, this is the first video where you see her door...the first 6 videos are just straight on her, this is at an angle. I don't think this is a coincidence...you're supposed to notice the door or the video would not have had it on camera.

Some said this could be a closet door, I'm pretty sure its her room door...on video 2 or 3 when she is going out clubbing, Marlena calls to her and she turns her head stage left towards that door.

This is what I think was going on…Tagruato sent someone to her apartment to look for the stuff Teddy sent her (DSI, etc), the person enters her apartment thinking she was out, goes to open her door, hears her talking, stopped and left. Just a theory, we'll have to see what happens

Look at her weird reaction:

either she knows, who is behind the door (and doesn't surprise)
or she thinks, she is hearing things, and it were only mishearing.

But she doesn't look scared.

ok so i hadn't noticed the reaction until it was just now mentioned but after watching a few more times i have come to decide that the door movement is from another door in the apartment being opened and closed. not sure what causes it (something to do with air flow and what not) but that could very easily be from that. her reaction is surprised but not scared because her roommate marlena was probably out at a club or something and wasn't expected to be home for a few more hours. so she hears that and just passes it off as lena, so she finishes recording and goes out to say hi and gets killed/kidnapped.

but i think that after this much debate and discussion on the door movement i think that we can put to rest the whole "this was a pointless video" argument.

Wouldn't it be funny if these videos had nothing to do with Cloverfield?

I think that door closing is a mistake, the way she reacts towards it makes me think it was, but then again, as some of you have already said, why didn't they reshoot the video?
