[poll] What was the best puzzle leading to something new?
Slusho, My Space, J&T, Tagruato, TIDOWave...

I think the Tagruato find was the cleverest, Jamie and Teddy the most interesting (as far as anticipation). I'm hesitant to put the Whistleblower on the poll since the clues have not lead to anything "new" other then the obvious.

I'm I missing any? Let me know.

I really liked how the Tagruato.jp hack led to TIDOWave. I couldn't get over it. Very well done and it had be freaking out for a little bit. Great, exciting stuff. Than again... Jamie And Teddy has been great fun since it was found.

I voted for the recipe card leading to Tagruato, but it was a close call with the TIDOwave roman numerals. I liked the recipe card more, I think, because it was more involved, in terms of ARE, than the roman numeral puzzle. The roman numeral puzzle was a better classic or straight-up puzzle though. A tough call.

So far the whole Whistle Blower sub-plot hasn't really led us anywhere new, just provided some new information (e.g., no oil at Chuai). We've actually accumulated several IG loose ends or dead ends so far, including:

    1. Hammer, Cheese, Oven Mitt -- What the ???
    2. The TIDOWave "warm towel" list.
    3. The Slusho distribution opportunities (maybe this was just to gather e-mail addresses for the Whistle Blower)
    4. "Cornbread" and "Six, six times" from the Jamie video
    5. The meaning of pseunmoisuf
    6. The results of Rob's job search (this one I'm sure we'll soon know)

I'm sure there are others.

Vernon McDooble was the only decent piece of detective work available on this ARG - yet, but I think everyone has gotten tired since then.

I enjoyed the MySpace interaction between fans and the Slusho 7 a great deal.

So there's no entry for the closing title screen of the teaser with the date leading to the 1-18-08.com site, which is what really led me into all of this.
Between that and Slusho, how would we ever have gotten started on all of this? Those were both the kind of 'puzzles' that to me define the ultimate in 'alternate reality' - something observed in the context of a real human experience leading us into a world of things we've never heard of and that become fascinating. It's much like how Masonic symbolism has created a sense of conspiracy for so many because we see them around our lives and yet unless you are a Mason you know so little about them - and this intrigues some people to the point of believing there's a whole world concealed from them.

The Jamie and Teddy was great, also the slusho discover, an what about the day we first saw the second trailer, and caught a glimpse of MGP, and the girl exploding...that was great....
