But to be honest, except for the first 2 seasons of "Felicity" (until the episode where she did it with Simon Rex)
Doesn't this tell you this woman is a bit of a prude and a flake?
Someone having sex 'ruined the show' for her, and she apparently stopped watching.
Think she's a little uptight and flakey?
She did go see Juno though, but probably to criticize it.

The LAST thing this movie made me think about was 9/11.
Oh, there's plenty of imagery that's suggestive of 9/11. When they posted photo #4 (12:48 AM) on 1-18-08.com with the people moving through the smoke it definitely reminded one of the people fleeing the collapse of the WTC. And I'm sure if any of these "politically correct for fame and profit" people who are attempting to create some kind of backlash actually saw the scene in the five minute preview clip showing the collapse of the Woolworth Building they'd have a cow. It pancakes down just like the twin towers did. They'd be raising hell if any of them actually saw that.
But having said all that, this is clearly a work of fiction, depicting the surreal mayhem associated with a monster of some kind. Yes, it plays upon our modern fears in the same way that Godzilla played on the fears associated with nuclear weapons and testing in the 1950's. Does that make it tasteless or inappropriate? No, it makes it fascinating. In the aftermath of 9/11, one of the most common descriptions of eyewitnesses was that it all seemed like a disaster movie. People used that metaphor to try to come with grips with what they experienced. It doesn't seem inappropriate, then, that we come full circle and incorporate some of that imagery in a film.
Yes, quite a lot of the movie has 9/11 imagery, but I'm saying that to me, when I first saw the teaser and the 1-18-08 pics it did not remind me of it.

I never once thought of Sept. 11th until other people brought it up months after the first teaser. I still don't think about it. Perhaps because I know it's a movie, and the realistic styling means that you simply need to show realistic destruction. "Just because New York's already been attacked once (or twice, if you are Larry Silverstein ) it doesn't mean it's okay to fictionally attack it over and over again..." She completely omits Feb. 26 1993, there's no mention of 2/26 anywhere. By her count that'd make three attacks.
However, I'm not the type who feels I have an "obligation to remain vigilant and look for abandoned backpacks and shifty-eyed" people.
She just seems a few cans short of a six-pack to me. She's just rattling off in a blog painting scenes of sensitive imagery hoping to further her opinion, she's a politician without an office to run for.

She doesn't sound like much of a feminist in that post. She didn't mention the superiority of the V at all, not once. Big deal she watched "Felicity" somebody had to, I guess. It was on the WB there's no way it was that good in the first place.
If you're going to throw random stereotypes at her I bet psycho-conservative who wants to shut our borders and build walls would be a closer fit.

it is the unknown that intrigues us, and knowledge calms us. advertising at its best, and someone needs to tell her thats how things work lol
but as far as 9/11, its the only destruction of a civilized enviroment that most people have seen/can relate to, thats why it jumps in peoples heads when they see anything similar.

She's a nobody who thinks that just because she's an uptight, overly sensitive woman, she can dub anything she wants as offensive and attack it.
Anyone who does a "Dear [blank]," instantly comes off as incredibly condescending to me. Why not just talk about the damn film? She praises him for the first couple of paragraphs and then uses the momentum to nitpick at something just because they want something to have on their OH-SO-IMPORTANT blog. They pick topics that maybe a handful of similarly-thinking elitist jerks have similar feelings on. These kind of people are constantly looking for something to offend them.
Most political commentators/bloggers these days LOVES to reference 9/11 or exploits it to further their political agenda. Watch a cable news channel someday and you'll see it.

An awesome article on why we love to destroy NYC is here from 2005:

My favorite quote to all those people whining about the destruction of NYC from the article above is here:
Quote:
Rather than bemoan the degradation of our insensitive culture, we should celebrate these fantasies.
New York has been destroyed for so long -- since the early 19th century when it came to be America's first city -- that it is somehow reassuring to see the tradition continue. When New York is no longer destroyed, on film, in flight simulator software, video games and paintings -- that will be a sign that the city no longer dominates America's, and the world's, imagination. And if New York is no longer the setting of our worst fears, then it may also no longer be the home of our greatest hopes.
And that would be the beginning of the city's end.
I wholeheartedly agree good find there. Also, Ultra Magnus is a pansy.

In all fairness to this nutjob, I respect the fact that she is posting this on the internet. I may think she is a nut spouting foolishness, but I will fight like all hell for her right to spout her foolishness.
Unlike some news programs that shall remain nameless, this person is mearly posting her opinion on a blog. Granted the blog is associated with what looks like a newspaper, but even the banner says "News and opinion" so I cannot fault her like aforunmentioned news program.
This looks like her first post on this site. Bloggers like this are (in my mind) nothing more than forum trolls without forums. Don't feed them and they go away.

9/11 happened!
Nothing we can do about it.
The ones who were responsible for the attacks would get a huge kick if they heard about movies like this being shelved because we're still "healing" 7 years later.
We are a nation of saps now and it keeps getting worse.
It's time for the Liberals and Bleeding Hearts to BUCK UP.
Maybe a little waterboarding will toughen them up.
BTW: You know your an a$$hole when your defending the rights of your sworn enemies.
