[SPEC] Demo as Premium Content?
Quote:
The only thing that I have come up with is rearranging the lettering that people said may be an anagram. What I came up with is in the large thread and it was to do with a singleplayer demo being released as premium content. There were some letters remaining but I'm unsure what they spell out. I'm not much a believer of them releasing a demo but it seems convenient that is what the letters spell. We know it's going to be possible to download games as that's what Xbox Live Arcade is going to enable us to do. There was also the recent downtime which could be significant, I'm just speculating like everyone else though and this is just my opinion !!

Since we're all on AOL today, I guess I'll throw a "me too" in here.
At this point any theory that involves any of the elements from the ilovebees page is a "strong" one.
We just don't have enough information to prove or disprove much of this wild speculation yet.
Tonight should change some of that, though.

Some of us are confused... where are the anagrammed letters coming from?

The first I saw of it was someone attempting to dismiss the words:
SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX.
as somehow alluding to
SINGLE PLAYER DEMO RELEASE.
It's trivially not an anagram.
Aside from that, a demo isn't even particularly plausible.

The timer. Namely the words on the timer that are all in Caps Lock.

SPDR, the System Peril Distributed Reflex, is the SPiDer routine (see the Widows Journey fable/code comparison) that is repairing the Queen/The Operator.
It almost certainly does NOT mean a demo release. With console games, a demo release over two months before a games launch is unheard of, and there's no chance that Microsoft are going to change the Halo 2 release date. One of their main PR guys has November 9th tattooed on his body, and there's now a worldwide theatrical trailer campaign, allways saying 'November 9th'.
They can't just say 'Oh, we lied' to that. Sorry.

It would be just too big of a download to get ovet LIVE! so thats a No Go.. but releasing a demo disc this "early" surely is not unheard of even in consoles. Remember Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid2, Gran Turismo 4 prologue, the list goes on. So theres possibility, but I for one dont believe it before its proven to be true.

is it too much of a stretch the they might release the online e3 demo? that would be huge. it's already built, it reveals nothing more about the game, an online demo would be a first. They are currently testing the online beta which will end soon (network throttling), they start mass producing the demo (metastasize), and then they release it aug. 24th (wide awake a physical). i don't thing that's too far fetched.

But it would be a stupid pointless waste of time.
If this has anything to do with the release date of halo, I'll kill this puppy.

the kids on the bungie forums seemed convinced that the 24th was an early release date.
"dude. dude. seriously, dude. it's an early release date."
"yeah dude. seriously."
"dude. it isn't."
"fine, dude, when i'm at home kicking covenant ass on the 24th, and you're crying, i'll be laughing."
ok, so they don't talk like that on the forums. but that's how i imagine they talk.

Why would you have a giant campaign to get the release date out...
But sprinkle in a hidden mystery game that has the real release date?

Just so people aren't confused, the anagramming is from the ALL CAPS letters in the warning at ilovebees.com:
HALT - MODULE CORE HEMORRHAGE
SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX
STRONG INTRUSIVE INCLINATION
COUNTDOWN TO WIDE AWAKE AND PHYSICAL

One level would easily be downloaded over XBL.
They first release a patch through the dash that downloades all the codes so the game work then you you buy the actual game.

They wouldn't make people pay for a demo, so premium content sounds unlikely.

It is very unlikely that it's gonna happen.
But you gotta pay for the magazine.
Even though Bungie said they don't do demos before release
